See page 17 "Aggregate AA fire"... "If there are no IJAAF Groups in the Target Track and there are multiple missions yet to fly in the Target Track’s Mission Staging Area..." they are all placed on their targets and subjected to a single aggregate AA fire die roll. That die roll is reduced to the minimum impact of any Target being bombed, so 1/2 if there is a high altitude Target (for example), and no AA at all if one of the Targets is a Mine laying mission, because those missions are not subject to AA at all.

Yeah, my first time making it as far as the Aggregate AA. It was the squadron left on the board (oil) that confused me. I thought you rolled for interception for each bombing “mission/groups”. Do you only roll once for interception, then they all go their separate ways to their individual targets?

Thanks Jumpmaster! As an 82nd AB guy, make sure you play the optional independent brigades rule so you can get the 3rd Brigade, 82nd AB Division into the action! Hint: casualties early might be heavy, but DON'T let a Province fall! That's always brutal to recover from. Focus your initially limited forces on that, don't go gallivanting into the jungle thrashing NVA when you've got 9 VC battalions bearing down on Qui Nohn! All the Luftwaffe Squadrons start in the "Dead Pile", as do most USAAF Squadrons. See page 3, III. Setup, i. "Place all the USAAF and Luftwaffe Squadrons in separate piles off the board. These are referred to from now on as the “Dead Piles”, because all destroyed units (including destroyed Groups) will be tossed here as well."

Correct - no matter how bad the oil situation for IJAAF, the best unit intercepting always gets to use its combat factor. Let's say oil says -4 and IJAAF is intercepting with a 3-Group with two attached Squadrons: even though the oil track says "-4" the IJAAF still gets the 3 combat factors of its strongest unit, it does NOT get the combat factors of the two Squadrons.

@@bobphaneuf5850 Well, I lost my first game but it was pretty close for first time out. 14 minors destroyed with four of those nuked. I ended in Nov 45 so a loss regardless. I believe I made very few mistakes. It seems to get pretty rough on the squadrons toward the end. Many losses as you try and destroy those cities (plus) keep up with the campaigns.
