Is it possible, for example, to click on transform options like position/rotation/scale and use the spacemouse to change the values instead of inputting the values with the number pad?

Hi! happy to hear, have fun. Im not sure multi year licenses exist with octane, but you surely can contact support and maybe they will set one up for you, their support is great

What would you use the SPACEMOUSE for?
@shuflie4 ай бұрын
I've been using the wired version for about 4 or 5 years now, found that it is a great companion for Altium when demonstrating the fit of a custom PCB inside an enclosure. To be able to zoom, pan tilt and rotate in one smooth motion with the space mouse while setting the focus point with a regular mouse is a game changer.
@TheDizzyViper4 ай бұрын
I totally agree! eventho i turn the tilt option off for most of the work since i mostly do fixed angles (5, 10°) i still like having every camera function in one place and so direct
@outrageous-alex4 ай бұрын
These to my knowledge are common in engineering applications. Since I have only seen them in our engineering dept.
@TheDizzyViper4 ай бұрын
That is true! That is what 3Dconnexion wanted to see by sending me this mouse. How it would work with non engineering applications but 3D software in general. I have found my uses for it since its such a direct and intuitive connection to the camera. I personally like using it in substance painter. In C4D i like using it for camera movement, and tracking it, kindof like flying a drone in the 3d software.

Thank you very much! Genius idea! I think its easily extractable from the files i provided actually, just make them black and white and use em as displacement :) ill try that today as well

what to do if i have a scene where the camera is following the car and i want to have a car in focus, wheels blurred out and background to be a bit blurry as well? im really struggling with it. does the octane object tag actually make it so that the object will or wont have any blur at all? do i need to have it on every single object of the whole car or on the group of the objects?
@TheDizzyViper7 ай бұрын
Good question! yes if you use an object tag that will have the desired effect. It might not always work in the live viewer, but it 100% works in the picture viewer once you render. (for the live viewer, go back and forth a bunch of times in your keyframes, its a bit bugged, and will work like 1/10 tries to get the blur correctly) The tag only has to be on the parent null of the car, not every object inside. For the wheel blur make sure to use a sampling step of 10 instead of 1. you can find that setting in your octane render settings. Otherwise your wheel will look mushy, even if you have done everything else correctly :)
