"tHEy'Re pLaSTic"... Yes, good observation but so are car parts and construction site helmets. They are not going to break unless you are a complete animal. As for the noise you mention i have never experienced this, a demonstration would be beneficial to back up your claims.

Stoner rock is much lower gain and uses just amp distortion, or over drives and lower gain fuzz like fuzz faces. Did you mean Stoner Doom? Which uses big muffs and walls of fuzz ie, Sleep.

If you believe that tone/gear is this compartmentalised and neatly packed in genre boxes you are firstly mistaken, secondly not been paying attention and thirdly, and worst of all, holding yourself back musically. The world is a fairly big and diverse place, enjoy it 🙂

@KrachWerke I know it's not, but some gear just works for said sounds, and other gear requires unconventional settings, use, or mods. Stoner Doom Metal is vert different to Stoner Rock. I'd happily use a Telecaster and a DS-1 for Stoner Rock, for Doom I'd want a Big Muff and humbuckers. Hence why I thought you meant Stoner Doom. I'd even tune my guitar differently, for Stoner Rock E - C#, for Doom C or below. Stoner Rock is mild in comparison to Doom Metal.

I guess I'm not a big enough "cork sniffer" to realize if they're bad or not. LOL They work fine , no noise in the ones I own, and they cost little.

i know this video is a bit old and perhaps Behringer was being talked about in those days... i have used and still have Behringer pedals since around 2010 and while not the best they get the job done and perhaps Donner is an option, you failed to name other low budget pedals too and seem to be hyping up Donner.. its all the same in the end.. as long as you are happy with your sound dont worry about what others say and do..

Amazing sound! Is this real? I mean, if I purchase one myself for my GP200 LT will I get this exact sound? Plus, do you think this work for playing some deftones?
@KrachWerke
@KrachWerke Ай бұрын
@Quetange as far as I know the gp200 lt is the same but without the expression pedal. All sims are the same. The guitar and bass tone in this video is all straight from the gp200 including reverb and delay. Obviously I mixed the track as best I can and the mixdown buss in the daw had compression and some eq on it. But yes, tones are pretty much as they came from the unit.

And then there is the discontinued Reverb Machine RV600. A plastic Behringer Pedal that sells on the used market for a 100 bucks. This is becoming a sought after pedal and might even get cult status one day. Yes it feels cheap and is squeaky when you press it, but you soon forget that when you hear how amazing it sounds. It sits right on the end of my FX-chain, accompanied by some expensive pedals and I can tell you it's there to stay.

Yeah... I bought my first behringer pedal a couple of days ago. It was the compressor/sustain... the hiss was crazy, on and off. I have to turn the attack down to like 30% in order to get rid of most of it, which kind of defeats the point. The cheaper kmise (Amazon basics) pedals don't have that noise as far as I've found so far. I picked up the analog delay, and it's been great. I think I'll get their compressor and see how it compares. I'm a poor, so I think I might just get the rest of the kmise pedals. It would still be cheaper than getting one quality brand pedal. Lol

After reading a bunch of these comments, it makes me wonder... did I just get a bad one or something? I feel like I'm the only one in the comments that agreed with you. Lol The hiss is real, I swear! Lol Maybe I'll try to send it back and get another??? At least then I could see if it was just a bad pedal. But I have a feeling it will be zero out of 2.

This review is one man's opinion, please read the replies underneath from the rest of us. For next to no money these pedals are genuinely amazing, I own 12 pedals of which 4 are Beringer and they are a quality product, the reverb and ultra chorus are fantastic. The noise that he mentions neither I or anybody else in the comments have noticed and the "plastic" complaint is void... Yes they are plastic but so are construction site helmets and car parts, just keep this in mind. Anyway, don't let this one negative review stop you from trying a product which clearly many of us find to be fantastic, buy one and give it a try. 😉

Sounds like they are doing everything everyone is doing these days - hard, soft asymmetrical clipping either in the feedback loop, or the feedback of the transistor (or op amp) or in the output. If they are doing blind tests, that's a great idea. They are probably picking the right amount of bass, treble and midrange that sounds the best in all these gain stages. The problem is if you have too much bass it can sound fizzy because you are squashing all these harmonics, and too much treble makes it sound harsh. That's why there's millions and pedals and amps because there's no perfect solution.

I remember reading a detailed explanation by Peavey of all the elements involved in the transtube technology. The original analog “modelling” amp. They may say that it’s not modelling, but it is. Digital modelling just uses software to mimic the behaviour of different elements of analog circuitry, whereas Peavey uses analog circuitry to mimic the behaviour of different elements of tube circuitry. There are a few pedal designers who make pedals similarly, using JFETS to mimic tubes, or transformers to mimic the behaviour of amplifier transformers . Howard Gee, previously of Catalinbread, used this JFET method to make several pedals that emulate certain specific amps, and Greer and Supro make pedals with transformers.
@bozeeke
@bozeeke Ай бұрын
Just saw this old video now. Peavey transtube technology IMO does not sound very good on the distortion channels. There are better sounding cheap amps on the lower end of the market including the Boss Katana among others. Peavey amps, however, are built like a tank, are very durable and sound very good clean. Also, the clean channel when used as pedal platform sounds very good with distortion pedals or overdrive pedals. Pedals are the secret to good gainy tones with a Peavey.

Great points. I noticed each issue you mentioned in actual use. Another usability issue i noticed is the user can assign an effect that is off to a footswitch that is toggled green, and it prioritizes the current state over the sensible way to show an indicator. IE if you assign an effect pedal that is OFF to a foot switch showing green, then that GREEN switch state is saved as PEDAL OFF, which is opposite of what a green light typically signals to our brain. Toggling the effect pedal and reassigning it remedies this issue, but yea. What a pain in the brain..

That's why the Pedal is affordable. They probably made it with a less demanding, cheaper CPU. I guess that is the part of the deal. It has very much to do with CPU strength these days. This little box is very demanding on that.

I've always hated vinyl records, even when I was a kid, that is why I tried to make a tape recorder in the fourth grade, I didn't succeed obviously, but at least I tried! The ticks, and pops, plus surface noise, and the eccentricity of vinyl records drove me (when I had enough money), to purchase a used teak A1500U, reel-to-reel tape recorder, but I could easily still hear the difference between "source and tape", the dreaded tape hiss. In 1978 as an engineering consultant for the "Great American Sound Co., I traveled to Japan to visit GAS dealers and the Tokyo Electronics Show. In the Sony booth at that show, I saw for the first time, a model PCM-1, 12-bit digital processor playing music from the video track displaying thousands of black and white, undulating bits on the monitor, from the same SL-8200 Beta max VCR I had at home, I had to own one of these! In 1983 I attended an AES meeting featuring Marshall Buck who was presenting his new "coaxial two-way" loudspeaker he had designed for Cerwin-Vega! In his demonstration he was utilizing a "vocal-only" recording of a female singer that sounded fantastic with an incredible "dynamic range" and no background hiss. Immediately after Marshall's demonstration, I walked up and asked him what equipment was playing back his recording of this singer? He pointed to this diminutive silver box, and said I'm using a Sony PCM-F1, 16-bit Digital Audio Processor and a VCR. I said how much for the PCM-F1. He said $1,500.00, and I said sold! I built a portable recording rig that included the PCM-F1 and other custom-made equipment that I utilized for various musical performance recordings made on location and I won an Emmy for an outdoor performance of the opera Faust! I've been a digital advocate ever since, if you wish to learn more about my current endeavors, search KZbin with the following: "JBL SYNTHESIS CREATOR", and ALSO: "HOWTOHOMELIFE". If you have questions, feel-free to call me @ 818-314-7275 Pacific time. David Riddle

After buying trying a range Behringer guitar pedals, after JSH endowment, I can say the only pedal I'm impressed with is the Vintage Delay. The Chorus is unusable, the Heavy metal is unusable, The EQ is only good for cutting frequency not boosting, The compressor is terrible and mostly muddies the signal chain. Bar the Vintage Echo I will not use any of these in my signal chain.

Who is this guy? Why he is in my feed?? LOL. I have 5 Behringer pedals for years, and they are cool. SUPER FUZZ and Vintage Tube Overdrive are freaking killer pedals for the money. Buy better power supply or fix your mains if you have a noise. My Behringer pedals are just fine, same as BOSS. And it's all about preferences and variety. I have pedals and multi effects and sometimes I like to combine them for some different flavour. Just be creative with what you have and learn to use gear properly.

Can't understand the hype either. I own 3 Behringer pedals, and they all suck, with the Super Fuzz SF300 being the worst. Which is odd because it's one of their most praised.
