Yeah so did you have Henry Cavill sitting off to the side to act as a face model? I think you did. Fantastic work.

why paint one color first, and then completely paint it with another. In the sense that in the end that first layer is not visible at all. I am a beginner in painting miniatures and want to figure it out
@derboivince9321Күн бұрын
The very first layer (base coat) covered the black. Then a green, transparent wash was applied. This requires a light undercoat because a wash cannot cover over black. This green wash shaded the recesses. Afterwards a layering approach was done where only the higher surfaces are covered where the light hits. So the dark green stays in the recesses, which helps to recreate the volumetric lighting. I hope this answers your question 😊

Hello!!! the second colour I paint with is translucent, if I had used an orange colour for example, the result would have been different. Paints are not 100% opaque and they are always affected by the colour underneath and even more so if we apply them diluted.🙈

yes, that's where personal taste comes in, for example I really like to highlight them, whenever I outline them my brain says “that needs more”.🙈🙈🙈

Yeah it's a miniature painting thing, I'm more into military scale models so I tend to favor panel shading. Although when I do 40k stuff instead of edge highlights I do wear instead, so it's still an accent but in a different way. There's a KZbin video of a guy called Night Shift who did a predator in the military style, it looks amazing.
