@@SajidKhan-kt6rz yeah... that's prob why. You have obstruction at the tongue and other spots. You gotta target those directly as you can. I've seen online that myofunctional therapy aka throat/tongue exercises can help many of those areas... The only thing that helps the epiglottis is this airlift from what I've seen. That's why I will prob do it. CPAP would seem to potentially not work well if you have epiglottis obstruction has been my experience to date and what I've read online. I've been using my MAD with cpap even.. still not getting the results I want..prob because of the epiglottis... been having acid reflux, distrubted sleep, brain fog, rapid heart rate, among other symptoms EVEN with combined treatment.

It was terrifying at first, thought I was going to pass out... heart was beating so fast and body was shaking but I hadn't been to the dentist in over a decade (embarrassing to admit) it was nerve racking. Anyway only thing I had him do was add more numbing stuff because the first application didnt numb that good, I could feel the tools. After he applied the second round of cream I couldn't feel anything. Worst part for me was how the numbing stuff made my face feel it was so strange. Of course it hurt after mainly for 2 days but the meds helped. After I didnt want to eat, just sleep and took the steroid, antibiotic and Tylenol 3 he prescribed. Didnt smoke for 3 1/2 days and when started back I took it easy didnt suck to hard and about a week till I drank from straw. I still clean with the syringe because food does get stuck back there. You will be fine. The best of luck to you.

With repect to the comments below from Mellow Mike, the "Empty Nose Syndrome" results from excessive resection of inferior turbinate tissue. This is most commonly performed for patients with sleep apnea who have diminished nasal airflow. It occurs more commonly in drier climates where less humidity causes excessive dryness in the nose. In fact, it is a very rare complication. This is very different procedure than the sinus surgery discussed in the video. No turbinate tissue is removed.
