They have a block, similar to Vergil's, and if you hit it and don't break it eventually you will get "parried". It's not really a threat at all, cuz Cainas literally are ragdolls, but either way

Vergil. He can instantly clear an entire room with just two buttons. Dante must at least put in some effort.

They are good at different things. Dante can easily negate literally any attack on existence, including time/space sword cuts. Vergil can cut thru time and space and clear absurd amounts of enemies with ease. Cutting portals thru space, teleporting by just going fast (Dante) and teleporting by actually teleporting(Vergil) are all really strong abilities. I think the game is designed to make them roughly equivalent in power, but in different ways

Oh for sure! I think Dante's and Vergil's combos are hard for different reasons. Dante's combos are difficult because you have to find a weapon load out that's right for you. Once you do, mastering mechanics like jump canceling are essential for mixing it up and maintaining variety in your gameplay. Along with balancing style and weapon switching! So it feels like a lot to juggle sometimes (Especially since the amount of Dante options can make it feel overwhelming), but the more you play, the more you get used to it. Vergil's gameplay can feel difficult in its own way because having less options means you have to be really creative and think outside the box. I love the challenge both characters bring to the table! Happy New Year, btw!

​​​​@@fluxmedia19 Yeah Nero kind of has a lot of gimmicks with his devil breakers, slowing down time for instance or being able to shoot himself downward with GP01, which unlike Dante and Vergil's ground tricks, can be canceled. He doesn't have as many options as dante tho, especially if you don't have the breaker switching mod

@@DeadweightDevilhunter i don't get it, I haven't played 5 yet. Are you trying to tell me that you can switch between breakers on vanilla 5? Or are you just locked onto one or two until you get to Nico's van.

You can buy breakers from Nico at any checkpoint in DMC 5, and then at that same checkpoint you can arrange them in the equipment menu to suit your needs. The mod that guy was talking about (cool name btw) allows you to switch between Breakers as if they were weapons, because in the vanilla game you have to destroy a breaker to use the next one. It allows for much more versatile combos and movement
