I think the cornet or flugelhorn would be a better choice for Christmas carols than a trumpet, but still enjoyable nonetheless.

Agreed! I'm hoping to record a second album of hymn arrangements this coming year (2025), and am going to try for milder and less processed sound.
@gustavganz303Ай бұрын
As a brass player (euphonium) i can ony say this is a big fake show. The music is completely synthetic. There is not one single brass instrument in the recording. blame on you.
@carsonmcgruff614026 күн бұрын
If you'd get out from behind your own eyes, you might have read the comments. OP said multiple times that these are real instruments, but heavily spliced to get the best bits from multiple takes.

Lovely version of this beautiful piece i am familiar with Planxty's version and taking to the road to work in Cornwall from Manchester had a small tape recorder had 5 tapes Planxty Aris, Bothy band 1975, Roy Harper, flat baroque and berserk, Steve Hillage live herald and a collection of my favourite Dubliners tracks that was near 40 years ago, had the time of my life great hash and acid and copious amounts of ale great company beautiful landscapes . the ale and acid are now a distant memory and the hash has been replaced by grass , but the music remained and this tune brings it all back. Thank's so much I'll dry my eyes now and go pull out my old Planxty album peace to all !

Hallelujah. Preist den Ewigen!

@@coffeematt I'll humbly admit you had me fooled, then; the articulation and timbre of a few of these had me convinced that this was a particularly good digital sound font. Bass trombonist here, not ashamed to admit I was wrong. As much as I wish there was that deep rumbling that you can only really get with a tuba or bass 'bone, I really love these arrangements.

Makes me want to pull out my trumpet and start playing again. Last time I took it out, we had a new puppy who'd never heard me play before. He got so scared he peed on the carpet! 🤣 (Actually back in the day I was a good trumpeter....it had just been a long time since I'd played then.....) 😉

Very nice job. Accomplishes your goal admirably. The only one I seriously questioned any of your arranging decisions was on the Coventry Carol. And it's pretty much impossible to find two arrangements of that that have any agreement over when to play certain notes natural or sharp in that one! Thank you. So glad i happened upon this. Truly an unexpected Christmas gift!
