Great video again Randy. As it goes for that knot failure I never use a Palomar knot on any fluorocarbon line whatsoever. If you research on KZbin Shaw Grigsby did a video on tying the strongest knot for fluorocarbon I've always known it as the Jimmy Houston knot. Again looking forward to your next video dude take care.

I have been running the same dilemma as you. Most of my fishing is trolling. I am thinking about buying a little 4 stroke kicker motor to troll with and just use the trolling motor to steer the boat. Then hopefully my wet cell will last me all day.

I’m in the process of researching building my own lithium, seems pretty easy and sooooo much cheaper. Can buy the cells for about 50c per amp hour of power then add a bms (battery management system) So basically you could build a 36v 200ah pack for approx $1400 plus delivery Plus a box to keep them in (can be built from timber on the cheap) You would need x12 200ah cells plus a 12s bms rated to minimum 100amp (approx $1400 plus delivery) You could even make a 300ah battery if you wanted and another thing I like the sound of is if one cell goes bad or the bms goes bad you can replace the part instead of replace the whole battery (once out of warranty) A single battery 36v 200ah would weigh around 50kg (each cell pack in 200ah weighs 4kg) but you can make x3 individual units and connect them in series to bring the weight down to something you can carry if need be. Anyway, just thought I would share that with you. If you want a couple of sites pointing you in the direction of info about the cells and where to get them let me know. (I’m not trying to sell anything here and am not affiliated with anyone although that would be nice 😂)

A 36 Volt Battery? What is that about are you starting you motor with it? Is it a LiFe04 or a Lithium Ion Battery? The CCR rating is all you need to care about with that boat unless use a Electric Motor. LiFe04 Batteries have almost twice the USABLE POWER as a Wet Cell at 1/2 the weight. 1/2 the Weight, 2X the Power so price is about the same for the same Amp/Hrs . Your problem may be heat and the BMS is shutting the battery down or not using a proper alternator from the motor (and or) Battery charger. You should stick to a AGM if you do not know about LiFeO4 Batteries.

Tip #1 - chase the windy banks. Particularly if you go to south end below narrows. Tip#2- secondary points & shallow pockets off of main lake. Jerkbaits, cranks & flipping.

Please forgive my ignorance on this subject..newbie to boating and Lifepo4 batteries. I recently bought a small boat and a 100ah lifepo4 battery to run the trolling motor and fish finder. Trying to surf the web to see how to hook up both electronics to the battery and really found no help. Is this possible? I really hate to buy a separate battery for the fish finder when I have so little room on the boat and have plenty of juice with this battery. Can you please advise me if this is possible and how might I hook both up to the same battery safely? Do I need a circuit breaker? Thank you in advance.
@randybenhamoutdoors64392 жыл бұрын
I would add something that you can add to your battery that will give you extra terminal connections. You should be able to add that without too much difficulty. Terminal bus should allow that
@Ebiczebulanious2 жыл бұрын
Cant charge the LiFeO4 with boat motor as the regulator thinks the LiFeO4 is always fully charged so may as well keep them separate. www.mobile-solarpower.com/uploads/1/2/9/6/12964626/published/msf4vpdl-1_14.jpg
