I see Revelation as being Daniel’s 70th week (7 years) which has yet to be fulfilled. I believe that ALL prophecy will be fulfilled. Mostly yet to be fulfilled is Messianic, I.e. regards Christ and redemption of Israel.

“Fear and trembling” is a Hebrewism the means with anticipation, excitement, exuberance and joy… Ask your friendly, local Messianic Jewish friend… That’s how a pastor I know found out and shared with me… Puts a different, encouraging context to that phrase…

wow, what a yoke some church's have put on people,. It's sad to see how they are brainwashing people into giving. For tithing was never money,. If one looks it was always food,. we should be feeding the people instead of making them pour. There Church are just to rich, and they need the people to feed them and keep the light's on. This is sad.

Contrary to this man's misunderstanding, it is good to study the entire Holy Bible for yourself so you will recognize these people who are so deceived. 1 John 1:8-9 "IF we say we have no sin, we lie to ourselves - the Truth isn't in us. IF we CONFESS our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." One day faith will become sight and hope will become a reality. But love goes on forever. ❤

This verse doesn’t contradict what he said. He didn’t say not to confess your sins. He said confess your sins and then believe that you are forgiven. If you have to ask again, you’re implying God didn’t already forgive you when he has forgiven you.

Those scriptures you used are speaking to unbelievers. Sin deniers. How can I ask forgiveness to be cleansed of all unrighteousness if I am already cleansed and have become the righteousness of God at salvation?

And the bible says to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another so that we may be healed. The prayer of a RIGHTEOUS person is powerful and effective. We don't confess our sins to God to obtain more forgiveness when He has taken our sins away! They're gone! Removed as far as the East is from the west! Remembered no more! The Father looks at us as if we have never sinned! We confess our sins to one another to bring healing to our minds and to confess so that we may stop doing the very thing we don't want to do.

You ask for forgiveness of any new sins. Not the past sins.
@Cgoodall
@Cgoodall 8 күн бұрын
That’s his point. Jesus didn’t just forgive the sins you’ve done in the past. He died so that ALL sins may be forgiven. That is why he said “it is finished”. He forgave you already for every sin you have committed and will commit. Basically there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God thanks to what He has done for us. That is the good news known as the gospel. God bless

Hi, I greatly appreciate your ministry ! I agree that Grace can’t be preached enough in all of Christendom and the world. However, I’m not so sure that we can so easily dismiss the events recorded in Acts and the evident tension present related to the law. I believe your references about Martin Luther’s view of James’ writings is incorrect. Luther did not accept these writings as valid. We also don’t have much evidence of James writing prior to the 3rd century. That aside, The writer states he is addressing Jews that have been disbursed. We know there was a large Jewish dispersion in 70 CE and 150CE. Again, let’s put that aside in part. The epistle is written to Jewish believers. The repeated reference to works is undefined as to exactly what the writer considers “works” we must engage in other than the references to Abraham and Rahab. The issue of error in scripture is not at issue here. Rather, I think, is a marked difference between Jewish believers and the gentile church. Acts clearly tells us that James and the large congregation in Jerusalem continue to participate in the Mosaic Temple rituals. In fact, James insisted Paul engage in a specific cleansing ritual at the temple with new converts. This tense situation and Paul’s agreeing to submit to the demand from the head of the Jerusalem church also ultimately led to Paul’s death when the Jews saw Paul’s doing what they saw as hypocrisies. As they all seemed to know he was teaching others they were not obligated to the Law or its ritual requirements. I think an honest reading of James as a Jewish to Jewish commentary presents some answers to what’s being presented. One can, and many have, read and studied James and concluded the works were connected to something more than faith. While I appreciate your attempts to clarify James, the writing remains a bit contradictory. At best, I think we can say these writings must have come after the events with Paul in Jerusalem. James would have clearly understood that it was his demand of Paul that led to his arrest. James, a practicing Jewish leader of the church in Jerusalem, over other Jewish leaders remains a matter of question. Did first century Jewish believers continue living as Jews that participated in the mosaic laws and rituals or not. The minimal evidence we have suggests they did not part from traditional Jewish practices. I do think you are correct in your unraveling of James agrees with Paul’s teachings or not. However, it seems to me that he remains ambivalent in many ways. We must consider how the Jewish readers understood the word “works” in their displaced (from the temple) state. One can easily also accept that while James understands salvation while at the same time continues to encourage other Jews to keep the Jewish traditions. This isn’t stated directly… Jesus spoke about the law extensively and not just keeping the letter of the law but the spirit of the law. While James acknowledges the inability of the law to save, he seems to be referring to “works” the readers must know of. The reference to not helping a “Brother” in need… also can be referenced to the old covenant. Jews of the first century seem to have a double standard, or a different concept of the covenant they were now living under. They may not have fully disposed of the old covenant, or even continued the old covenant requirements with a new covenant state of mind. We simply don’t have enough information about the actual Christian-Jewish believers, their communities or their understanding of the interaction and obligations they had under each covenant. We do see the conflict in Acts. We clearly see a Jew demanding another Jew publicly engage in temple ritual worship. I don’t believe we can so easily skip over this fact. Or the silence of the New Testament on the Jewish-Christian experience and their understanding of this new faith. James never says that his works that demonstrate his faith are actions that the Holy Spirit inspires. (Being led by the spirit). It seems that James the Jew, is conflicted and slow to understand the new covenant even as Peter was. Living between two covenants and accepting both at the same time. And why not, they were Jews. What makes them Jews apart from their religious practices? The conflict is easy enough to see. Yes, this James writing understands the same soteriology as Paul . What we can’t be sure of is the writers understanding of how that salvation exists in the context of a devout Jewish life. We can not be sure of how those these writing were directed understood James. It’s not a failure that the early church had conflict. It’s not inconsistent that Jews and gentiles responded very differently to the Gospel. Jesus said, “You shall be my witnesses”, he didn’t say the apostles would be the authority of all things concerning the church. We know that Jesus himself is the head of all things concerning the church. A witness tells what they have seen and heard first hand. As the Jewish tradition segregates their scriptures between the Law, the Prophets and Writings. The Law was dictated by God face to face with Moses. The Prophets delivered messages from The Lord (and were continuously scrutinized to ensure they were accurate) and then the writings like Ruth and Ester are set apart also. We too must understand that all those red letter bibles attempt to point us to a similar truth. What Jesus said is set in a much higher regard, and should be ! Things spoken or written by Paul, Peter, James or others is NOT at all equal the the words the Son Of God spoke. Sometimes the church fails to grasp this concept. We fail to understand that the “writings” and instructions we find in the epistles are part of the “witness” Jesus spoke of. They should never be placed on the same level of what Christ himself spoke to us all. Its ok to acknowledge ambiguity in the cannon of scripture we have today. Your excellent work in presenting the true Gospel message is truly outstanding. In an age where 80+% of Christian’s have no assurance of their salvation, this demonstrates the extraordinary failure of the church in declaring the true and full gospel. But, if we try too hard to make every New Testament writing agree, we are probably going too far. Clearly, the Jewish Christian perspective was unique in the first century. And we should not make any attempt to soften the conflicts present or the challenges that the gospels presented to the Jews of the first century. It’s possible the James writings were long after Paul’s arrest. His perspective and understanding hopefully increased in that time. Perhaps James relented in Paul’s favor, maybe not. Some do suggest that this conflict between Paul and James was never resolved. We really don’t have any definitive information on these conflicts one way or another. It’s not necessary for us to try and provide a resolution. We live our lives in conflict and with many questions and even struggles with our faith as we work out our salvation by the grace of God, the help of the Spirit and the encouragement of Christs work on our behalf . Your work on Grace may have limits and that’s ok. James may not completely agree with Paul. And why should he?
