When I was a baby I was often mouth breathing (from age 1 to 3), but then I stopped. However, mouth-breathing led me to have an incorrect tongue posture. My parents always taught me to chew food with my mouth closed, but even with this good habit, I guess I was swallowing food wrong, by pushing my front teeth, which caused my palate to narrow as the years went by, and by the time I was 9, I couldn’t even close my mouth properly because of how huge my incisive were. Parents should be very careful about their kid’s breathing. Sometimes everything happens before age 3. I looked so cute as a baby and kid, I look atrocious now.

I had a pretty good upper arch. I lost a crown on one side as it broke and fell away. I couldn’t afford to fix it and now a year and a half later, when I push my tongue into my upper pallet it feels like the lost tooth side is not as symmetrical or more crowded than the other. So I think your teeth are what keep your pallet wide, and not so much the pressure of the tongue

Anyone know of any good orthodontics and I can help with this for someone who is uninsured
@lightthatfire40126 ай бұрын
orthodontics is retractive which harms the airway and jaw development, orthodtropics is the way. I developed a longer narrower face and a non functional bite along with tmd in both joints all due to braces even without extractions because they pulled my teeth back shrinking my airway and messing up my jaw alignment.

It doesn’t make sense not to blow your nose at some point after using this. Xlear is supposed to ‘clean’ your nasal passages, by forcing the mucus that adheres to your passages to loosen its ‘grip’. So, if you don’t blow your nose, then what happens to all this mucus? Are you supposed to swallow it? I’ve been using this for a while, and find that within a few minutes my nose feels like it’s running. I blow my nose, and then it’s completely clear.
@lenore97453 жыл бұрын
This is a good video, but it is also important to swallow as much of the Xlear product as possible before blowing your nose in order to clear the 90 degree angle at the back of the nasopharynx to force this mucous into your stomach, thus killing the foreign invaders that may be present in the mucous as well as coat the oropharynx and esophagus. Two large sprays (better if transferred into a larger generic saline bottle) in each nostril a few times daily is what I recommend to my patients (I am a PT who works with dentists and patients with sleep disorders). The Xylitol has been shown in research to reduce bacteria and inflammation which helps to restore/maintain better gut health!
@Inisfad3 жыл бұрын
@@lenore9745 Thanks for your response. After using the Xclear for the past 3 months, I’ve come to the same determination as to what you’ve advised. While I haven’t transferred this into a larger saline bottle (and thanks for that suggestion) I’ve realized that swallowing as much of this as you can is the trick. I have a deviated septum, so completely blowing my nose is often problematic, but I bow it the best I can, use the Xlcear, ‘wash’ my throat with it by swallowing, and finally blow my nose. Sometimes the ‘wash’ is so effective that I don’t have to blow it at all. It’s been a learning experience…lol!!

I had a pollen allergy as a kid, and was raised on a diet heavy in processed food and milk. I mouth-breathed as a result and have all of the symptoms and more described in the video. I'm 26 now and saving my way to eventually be able to afford jaw surgery to fix some of the damage. I fear that my condition will never be fixed and that my story is all too common. This was a great illustration that I'll show people of the domino effect of the ENT systems. I don't think my childhood orthodontist was/is aware of any of this. Thank you.
@lightthatfire40126 ай бұрын
orthidontics can directly cause or atleast contribute to facial downswing and especially tmd due to the retractive forces. Braces also stunts muscle development and limits or even stops jaw growth which is harmful to the airway.

Well he didn't know this stuff when he was a baby and a child. I'm only just discovering this now and I'm 40. I have a long face, cranial distortion etc. I'm gutted that dentists never gold my parents this when I was a child, it's affected my whole life, It's harder to get jobs, find a partener etc because I am less attractive, I have huge problems with my jaw, it's hard to breathe through my nose. My mum bottle fed me as a child. My point is, it's in childhood that this develops, if the parents don't know, then you grow up with a bad skull. It's not the dentists fault he suffers from this, it's the fault of the parents and dentists when he was a child. He is now trying to correct that by teaching kids and parents about this stuff which I applaud him for!
