Great band Live as always as I've seen them many times over there decades but I still don't like the Peavey & Dingwall bass guitars he uses either on the road or in the studio but I'd say Live is thre point I don't like them more... There's no denying the high end Peaveys & Dingwall bass guitars are great but for me they've never met or bet the sound that I think John Taylor & last one that suited his sound was the Kubicki Ex Factor 4 Bass Guitar... I'm not saying he should bring out his Made in Matsumoku Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass guitar or any of the Aria Basses he uses as I think he used the Matsomoku made Aria Pro II SB700 & his SB1000 on the " Duran Duran " (Debut Album) & the " Rio " album & now that I think of it I think he used them on their first 3 Albums... I'm not asking that he bring them out as I think John would see that as a step going backwards but using the Kubicki Ex Factor 4 Bass Guitar... I've noticed over the 4 decades that my favourite bassists have changed to a different Brand & Name of their bass guitars but they all sound too bassy & there comes I point where the bass line has gotten lost in the mix as they are just too bassy... I still love John Taylors bass lines & when I was playing drums I ended up hearing their debut album " Durran Duran " & then the " Rio " Album not long adter as it was just released & my friend asked me if I wanted to hear it to which I said Yes & though the first albums was great that " Rio " album blew me away & of course John's Bass Lines made me drop playing drums & I would go on to play bass guitar from then on... I just don't what it is about the bands that are still Touring like " Duran Duran " though they only tend tour when they've released an New Album were as Level 42 have never stopped Touring & do so almost insanely as they did it when they were first on the playing Live circuit... Though I will admit after they've finished one particular tour they'll take a break for 2 to 3 years & then they are back out Touring again... Even Level 42 leas singer & bassist switched over from predominantly using JD Supernatural Series I Bass Gutars he then went in to use Rob Green's Status Bass Guitars & there was a period when he used the Status KingBass Artist Bass Guitar that he got the blend of tone perfect & that only lasted until he started using Rob Green's Status Paramatrix Bass Guitar & at the first gig I heard it this bass sounded likecthe bass was too high & it almost sounded like his Paramatrix Bass through too many sub woofers & this was back in 2016 & though inbiught 2 tickets for the delaid 1 year their 40th Anniversary Tour - " From Internity To Hear " I didn't go as I knew they'd play an amazing set list of songs but his bass would sound awful & it indeed it was as Mark set up his amps up on stage to go through the PA & the sound that came out of that PA was one of the worst according to a friend who went to see the Live... I know it's not the Status KingBass Artist , as I decided to buy one & on my amp at my settings thre Status KingBass Artist sounded great , so that leaves it down to the bass player or a bad mixer on the PA Desk & for me it was Mark's own settings he's using are the main reason his sound on his basses sound terrible... In light of this still ongoing coronavirus and it's variants stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....
