i'm just starting out with wedding photography and your channel has been an incredible resource! how do you ask your couples if you can bring someone to film your process? i need bts content for my socials and would love to bring a friend to film me, kinda like you do in your bts videos

Thanks for the tips! It’s always nice to revisit even after shooting many weddings! For some couples where the feeling is there, I ask the bride to tell the groom a dirty joke, so funny to see their whole face light up 😁 Also bring snacks and coffee, water or other drink. You’re on your feet, you won’t eat for a long time. Get a sandwich for the car. Keep two different focal lengths on each camera body and shoot with both, I usually have a zoom and a prime. Keep your wedding backpack simple, you can add filters and stuff but know how to use what you have first. A few artistic photos are nice, but most will just want simple

I made the mistake of getting too much stuff to start, and really a few lenses, 2 bodies, extra SD cards and one maybe two flash is perfect. Simple, work with what you have. The softbox you showed is amazing, will be getting one for sure!

Why no light at all? A lot of weddings don't have those perfect lighting conditions, and you need to have it for changing/less than ideal situations.

Just curious to know if you have a clever/good reason for not using your lens hood? I've heard to never remove it unless you're purposely trying to use the sun for flair effects?
