First gen Mustangs for the win!!!That rear end is an 8.8 out of an 80's mustang. The original 8" looks like a 9" but is more oval shaped and the housing doesn't have the "wrench only" nut on the bottom of the carrier.

@@projectblackjack all fox bodies (except the SVO) are factory 4 lug. To do a 5 lug (if it’s what I think I saw) is to use 2 (passenger I believe) shorter ranger axles to do the 5 lug. Sorry, I’m a mustang nerd. The 66 on my channel has been a full ground up and I have a couple more in the works.

That’s a 7.25” rear end Easy way to tell is the four lug pattern (inline 6 first gens were all 4 lug) Then it’s easy to tell which 4 lug it is by the octagon diff cover (8.8’s are round/oval), as well as it being an integral carrier rear end

Did you guys put thermal paste on the metal backside of the module? The module uses the distributor as a heatsink and will fail quickly without thermal paste. Probably why the previous module went bad so fast.

This is about an old video but I don’t know how to send a direct message. was wondering if you looked into hub motors for the ev project? I know that the ev company Canoe was looking at them. I figured on trucks that don’t have a solid front axle you could swap the wheel hub with one of these. Still give awd and hopefully reduce work on the front end.
