This video helped me so much. We just got our first dairy goats (I've never even milked before) and the one that's currently in milk has been so difficult. I used some of these tips and it was my best time milking so far

What about camel milk? Now the new news is not about camel milk, rich or richest as it may be (on land) but of moose milk. How about some moose milk cheese? Now that must be a tangy mess to optain. At least youd be milking standing up with your milking hands above your head. Now that is good exercise for a landlubbing aper I hear.

I have invisible fence burried surrounding about 20 acres including our home and barns and a couple feed lots, etc. it worked untill it didn't. Now they have learned to run through it even though i bought all new collars to make sure it wasnt a problem with the collars. I bought a tractive gps tracker one of them had on at all times because when they leave, the 3 of them are together. I have to tie up two every night because one by themself wont go far. If the 3 of them are loose at night they take off miles away. 7 or 10 miles away. Daytime isnt a problem. We love them and there are farmers around here who would shoot them. So for now I cant figure out what else to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated if we haven't already tried it. If they can hear us they come when called and are very sweet babies.

The only thing that worked was the field fencing and hot wire on top of the field fence. Haven’t had one escape in 3+ years. We still use the underground fence for our smaller dogs that can squeeze through the field fencing. Hope that helps!

Have you ever thought about getting a milk machine? I have one and it’s really helpful
@ChickaWoofRanch5 ай бұрын
We did get a cheap one off Amazon a few years ago. We got it so our farm sitter would have smoother time with milking. We started using it an and probably use it on most of our current goats. We should probably do an update video on our new process.

Fun fact - a female Armadilla can have 36 babies over it’s lifetime. Also they can carry really bad diseases. They are not from this country and have no positive affect on our eco systems.

New to June Bugs in my part of California. My cat is useless and they upset my 110lb (also useless) pittbull when they collide into him at night 😅 This is brilliant. I’ll save them for my friends chickens 🙌🏾 Thank you!

Not only does it slow the plucker down, it give the motor more torque to power through any jam ups.

Glad to know I'm not the only one we escape woes of LGD's. I'll keep adjusting my hot fencing til it stops all escapes... but they are juveniles and are doing what seems they do best.

We’ve not had any issues since that hot wire was installed on top of the field fence. The young dogs do tend to want to test the limits. They will get over that in time. Good luck!

I don’t see the purpose of the shaft being so long and requiring another bearing at the bottom. A good solid piece of wood would not require that. Also at the bent “formed” area of the spinning plate, I would use that to put two fingers facing down into the bottom and use them as wipers to expel all the feathers. Good work

does any one plant old style hedgerows for fencing ?
@ChickaWoofRanch Жыл бұрын
Since farmland properties (in general) are getting bigger not smaller. So some farmers are removing hedge rows. Not sure how I feel about that knowing why they were put there in the first place.

I laughed out loud when you said "mad armadillo." haha. I also have a dog named Cheyenne. She is a white lab/dogo argentina mix. The best dog ever. She is thirteen and slowing down, but roams the property with me doing chores and caring for the garden, goats, and chickens. Never leaves my space. My watchdog. Your Cheyenne reminds me of my Pyrenes "Jonah." What a wonderful dog he was. Thanks for the laugh.

Thank you for sharing this info. I have an amazing Pyrenees that does a beautiful job of watching our small farm. I have been concerned with her throwing her body to the ground and shimmying under the fence and running from pasture to pasture. It bothers me way more than her. I feel more confident know it’s common. I appreciate your simplistic and unpretentious teaching style. Thank you again
