Can you please share settings for the two button external switch? I have the Ampero 2 button switch (TRS cable) and don't know hot set second (HOLD) function. I think I didn't set right the "Stand-In Switches" in the FCControllers tab menu at in/out settings.

I actually prefer how plumes sounds on bass, alot more rounded in my opinion, the blumes to me just sounds like a fuzz pedal

Hello Jeremey!!! The MIDI block on your presets on the FM3 is also needed for the communication between the FM3 and the MC6?? Or is it enough just with both MIDI cables, in/out between both units??

Wish there would be more knob twisting and settings changing on bass.. Nobody else has done it on YT yet, can you believe it? Everybody just singing praises to blumes but i don't buy it...I believe it when i hear it in comparisson.

Different strokes for different folks. In some situations I can see them being a great fit! Although I didn't like mine as a neck pickup, I actually liked the bridge pickup because I usually played it with a lot of gain, , too.

I play mostly baritone and dropped tunings, so I was curious about this comparison.There are a lot of clipping circuits that aren't spectacular with guitar, but are excellent for full bass .As much as I like the regular Plumes, I don't hear the Blumes as an improvement for baritone ranges, - but I'm not looking for scoops, or mud, or high gain application.Seems,- okay ,-for standard bass, - but I think you could do better, and probably within the EQD long line of current and discontinued releases.

I have both pedals now. The Plumes has some low end loss when used on bass, Blumes has not. But the gain of the Blumes is definitely fuzzier, it has a different character.

I like how they improved the low end, but I don't see why they needed to increase the gain. But, I don't see many Blumes demos with the gain set low, so it's hard to get a sense of if the Blumes can do the same nice lower gain sounds as the Plumes.
@Poparad
@Poparad 9 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure the only difference in the Blumes circuit is the input capacitor is a different value that cuts less bass. When you have a bassier signal entering a distortion circuit, you get more distortion. It's inevitable. From my playing around with the pedal, it does clean up just as well as the Plumes. It just saturates faster as you turn up the gain knob and the highest setting sounds more distorted.
@jdjk7
@jdjk7 9 ай бұрын
@@Poparad Maybe? Earthquaker's marketing says something about the gain being doubled. I don't know if that means "the Blumes has double the gain of the Plumes" or "Both the Blumes and Plumes have double the gain of the original TS".

Having gone back through the website and through the manuals, they definitely say that the Blumes has increased gain from the Plumes.

On guitar, I think I’d agree for most typical applications. It definitely seems Blumes has a gain structure designed with bass in mind, and it actually seems to compliment Plumes on guitar well, as they each carve out room for each other on their respective instruments in the mix.
@palesama
@palesama 9 ай бұрын
Very good man. I want the Blumes now. It appears it will work well with low guitar tunings and bass 🎉 Having both seems beneficial. One complement each other. Plumes will add some brightness to the Blumes, and the Blumes will give a bit of dark tone to the Plumes. 💥

Hello! I am referring to your pedal board! Do you carry this pedal in the original pedaltrain hard case? And when you put it in the case, does it close without being too tight?
@Poparad
@Poparad 10 ай бұрын
I've never used their hard cases, only the soft ones. When I bought this board, Pedaltrain was only making bags with no pockets (a terrible idea) so I bought a Gator mixing board bag that was a perfect fit. Pedaltrain has since returned to adding pockets to their bags.

Just curious, did you record each of these pedals (other than the Spires) with the all the knobs at noon as shown in the pictures? Or are the settings different for each pedal despite the stock photos?
@Poparad
@Poparad Жыл бұрын
The settings were a little different for each. In most cases, I had the gain/fuzz knobs on max and tone between 75%-100%.
@SS-gx7tg

@@Poparad ahh ok thank you so much for the clarification. No idea if it'd be worth the hassle but if you have any more EQD dirt/fuzzes you could throw in it'd be awesome to do a Pt 2 to this, but would be even cooler if all the knobs were set to noon. I feel like if the settings aren't consistent it's hard to really gauge just how different pedals are between each other, but thats just my own opinion. Either way this vid is awesome! Would love to hear a Sound Shank vs a Zap Machine or Tusk or any of those super early ones
@Poparad
@Poparad Жыл бұрын
Noon is a totally arbitrary position on a pot and it's not consistent from pedal to pedal of the same model. Noon on one Dirt Transmitter won't sound exactly like noon on another Dirt Transmitter. Also, in a lot of fuzz pedals, noon isn't necessarily a good sounding position. Most tend to sound best with the fuzz maxed out. I do have a few new EQD pedals since I made this. I'm building a Zap Machine clone using the Grey Bench PCB right now, because I refuse to pay $500 for one.
