SO FAST. I am a rank beginner and this is really hard. Suggestions? I also cannot, no matter how I contort, get my thumb to the low E.
@coryfournier325913 күн бұрын
It is challenging to play. I can probably think of a way to not have to use your left hand thumb, but are you comfortable with the fingerpicking? Or would you just prefer a strumming version with the chords? I haven’t looked, but I bet there’s a version on www.ultimateguitar.com if you wanted to start by just strumming the chords?

Hey Michael - I know this is very late, but I found a video that talks about how to assign the expression pedal to patches. If you’re still having challenges with that, wanted to pass this along in case, it’s helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYq0p4WLr5qAjasfeature=shared

I bought this few days ago, but I have a query about this, my stomplab keeps turning off automatically, in the manual there is a way to turn the auto turn off thing but I am quite confused about it. Does anybody have a solution?
@coryfournier32593 ай бұрын
That sounds frustrating - sorry to hear about your challenge. I’m not familiar with that issue, or the auto turn-off feature. Is it an issue both by using the power adapter as well as with running it in internal batteries? If you just bought a new, maybe you could exchange it for another one? Or consider contacting Vox. Hope that gets figured out soon!

Michael Louis-thanks for the kind words. I’m glad it was helpful for you. I have used this pedal for similar things: I once used it for a full theater show when I had to travel overseas. It was amazing to be able to stick this into my guitar gig bag with a few cables. There are a lot of other pedals with more features, but I really like the sound and feel this one - feels and responds more like a real amp (to me) than many of the other processors I’ve tried. Biggest challenge for me was having only the two up/down buttons for switching patches. If you want to go from you our saved sound “03” to “06” for example, you have to hit the button three times to pass sounds “04” and “05”. OR, save your patches in a particular order so it takes only one button push to select the sound you want. Hope that makes sense. Enjoy!

I made some general patches yesterday and your tutorial really helped. I need a Wah Wah patch, but please tell me there's a way to use the expression pedal as a Wah Wah in a patch? Here's some recent tracks I cut (not with the Vox) with James "Worm" Wormworth. Drummer for the Conan O' Brien show's Basic Cable Band. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bovKZp6tnrGKhJI, kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5vEaIuHj7NoqdU Thanks again! Best - ML
@coryfournier32595 ай бұрын
Love the track you shared! I plan to reply directly to that video. Yes-you can absolutely use the expression pedal as wah. I will have to plug it in again to explain exactly how to do that (I think it’s one of the options you select under the PDL effects before an amp ). But another option is to find a preset sound that has the wah already engaged, then save that sound to a user bank and modify it to what you like. That is a long way to do it, but it would work. Even like a standard wah, you can turn it off and on by kicking it forward. I think it’s a very nice sounding wah too, by the way. Hope that helps!

This was perfect. I just bought one and this puts me in the ballpark with editing and saving. Full time working musician in NYC. With congestion pricing about to take effect to drive into midtown Manhattan, it’s going to force me to take the train into NYC from Brooklyn. That forces me to pare down my system. I have a heavy pedal board with a wah wah, overdrive, tuner…etc I’m going to program this pedal and see how it goes. I picked it up for $70 and in NM condition. Thanks again! I dig your playing! Best - Michael Louis Brooklyn, NY

Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Been using this to learn the solo for our cover band. Which pedal effects are being used for the tone?
@coryfournier32597 ай бұрын
Glad the video is helpful. I'm running through a VOX Tonelab SE, I believe using a Fender Tweed amp model with like maybe a Tube Screamer or "Boutique-type" pedal boost, and a little reverb. I think it was plugged into a mixer and out through my Headrush powered speaker monitor. So no special effects. On interesting note, sometimes David Grissom's tone on that album sound to me almost like there's a very subtle flanger-type filter, with zero rate (no movement) and very low mix. I'm guessing that "phasey" sound was from a certain combination of mics on his cabinet(s), and/or the angles the mics were placed. But you might play with that if you have a flanger to get that sound. For reference, the guitarist solo tone on Bryan Adam's song "Need Somebody", "Cuts like a Knife", and Ritchie Blackmore's lead tone on "Wasted Sunsets" from the Deep Purple album Perfect Strangers all seem to have a similar, phasey/flangery tone. It think it's also kind of a strat thing...Have fun!

Does this pedal have distortion?
@coryfournier32597 ай бұрын
Yes, this pedal has various “dirt” sounds both through pedal circuits and amp simulated circuits. Overdrive, distortion, and even fuzz sounds are options with this pedal.

Standard tuning??
@coryfournier325911 ай бұрын
Please read the video notes. I believe the band tunes down 1/2 step, which I did not do in this video. So I am playing the song where I believe the guitar player is playing it, but you would have to tune your guitar down 1/2 step in order to be in sync with the recording (or use software to transpose the recording up 1/2 step into standard tuning ). Hope that makes sense. Enjoy!
