Such a nice video as usual from you too. So happy you are enjoying the boat together 🥂 we have arrived in Palawan Philippines and will sail a few months around here. Love the load cells fitted to your boat. It truly makes sense. One could collect data to help when to reef, let out some traveller etc. really a good modern piece of equipment

Hi, Hope you read this and respond. My husband and I are on a similar adventure, but without all your experience. We are having a ball and are headed to the Caribbean asap. Question: you mention your tool kit you use everyday. It's in a small bag. We really need something like that. I would love to assemble it and give it to my husband for Christmas.Can you give me any detail of what is in it and what brands you choose??? I hope you can !! We will keep watching! We are SV Second Star
Awesome Randy! You guys are having a blast! You deserve it! Hope the seller isn’t watching, lol!

Thanks for the very well done video on outfitting your new Leopard 50 (2019). I’ve signed an agreement to buy one for June 2025 delivery at the same place. I have a couple questions please. Why did you get the davit and not the lift platform? Why did you get an after market gas grill and not the built in electric? Thanks, Terry
@SailingSVHappyTogether2 ай бұрын
Hi Terry, Those platforms are heavy as heck and no appropriate for offshore passage making at all. No offshore cruising boats would or have them. If you are just hanging out in one area that is okay but it's still 800LBS and will affect sailing performance. Up to you to make that call. I like cooking on gas which is why I didn't do electric but on my new cat I did electric.

What is the difference between a marine diesel and a turbocharged car diesel? My Kia has a 2 litre turbo diesel engine that according to the specs produces 182 bhp and the motor didn't cost anything like the $20,000 for the Yanmar 80 hp motor.
@SailingSVHappyTogether2 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, Big difference. They are not mass produced and they are much more robust and designed to last 50 years or more. Great question.

I noticed that you had a little of your main up when anchored, any particular reason?
@SailingSVHappyTogether3 ай бұрын
Hi Mark, so the design is to leave that 3 feet standing up so that it is thread into the slot for easy raising and leaving the halyard attached. The entire top is covered in sunbrella fabric so it can be left up. It's really nice because I don't have to go up on the roof every day when on the boat. When we leave the boat we take the halyard off and roll it down and cover the boom. Great question!

Guys checkout the “Hook & Moor” telescoping boat hook. It will solve your mooring challenges when you only have a mooring ring to grab- it really is unique in how it works to loop the line through the ring . You can even recover your shorts with the hook when they fall into the ocean
@SailingSVHappyTogether3 ай бұрын
Hi Ron, we have one but almost never see those type of moorings in Caribbean
