Yah man I’m not a pens fan but it’s still a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a guy play whole career with one team. Same goes for letang and malkin as well. Other guys who have spent whole careers with one team like ovechkin, Backstrom, Carlson and wilson on my capitals along with benn in Dallas, MacKinnon in Colorado, Kopitar and doughty in LA and Marchand, barkov in Florida, hedman, kuch and vasy in Tampa and pasta in Boston should all retire with their respective teams. Ofc we all thought stamkos should’ve with Tampa as well but sadly that ain’t happening with his recent 4 yr deal in nashville

i heard from some sources that he was only asking for like $4-5 million which would've been very respectable. If I were them I would've done like 3-4 years for $4.5 meet in the middle not too much/long. And tbh I would've done it in may or even august or september last year. The problem was the lack of transparency. I am glad heddy got extended but i prolly would've given maybe $7 millon over $8 million to him then sign guentzel to maybe $6.5 million so all could've likely have been kept and stammer wouldn't have felt left out

@@paulshockeychannel105 yessirrr my pleasure. A generational type player right up there with crosby and ovi as the most popular player of his generation i mean based on his style of play and consistency he's basically ovi 2.0. And he single handedly revived the bolts when they were struggling and building around him a the years went on helped increase the load. And ofc he made players around him better. I know many players like kuch, heddy, killer, tyler johnson, etc. St. Louis even said not long ago that he was the reason why he was able to stay productive and relevant well into his mid 30s or late 30s before getting traded to the rangers in 2014. It was overall an opportunity to see a player play whole career with one team.

As a long time Sharks fan, I actually wish that Celebrini and Smith DON'T play in the NHL this year. The Sharks need to tank and collect draft picks for another three to four years before they have ANY decent prospects. They got the Vlasic and Couture contracts weigh them down for the next few years, then they pick up a stupid contract with the Brclay Goodrow waiver clam (which will be hard to trade because they can't retain salary since they hit their limit on retaining salary with the Burns, Hertl, and EK65 trades). Then they pick up Tyler Toffoli, so they improve just enough to ruin their draft chances, but not enough to be a team worth watching.

Everyone is focused on Celebrini but Will Smith actually outplayed Celebrini at Sharks development camp. Smith has gained 10 pounds of muscle since college ended. He is really hitting the gym to improve his strength. Smith could be a monster within the next 2-3 years. Don't get me wrong...Celebrini still looked great. His overall skill package is better than Smith's. But he just needs to get stronger.

You have to think about the future worth of the contract, not the "right now". Will he be a 7.6m player in his first year of contract (2025/26)?
