This is a great point and production does select volunteers to be used on stage. That’s just done before the cameras start rolling because watching people get selected and mic’ed up is boring TV. I hope that helps clear things up.

Are Penn and teller that quick to learn the secrets of the trick? I mean i guess it’s not terribly difficult but I can’t imagine knowing exactly how he did it within 10 seconds.
@MadMagicianGaming11 ай бұрын
From testimony of people who have performed on the show, Penn and Teller deliberate for much longer than it shows on TV. Sometimes 10 minutes, I believe I've even heard it once lasting 15-20 minutes, but I could be wrong about that number. The show then edits it down to less than a minute.

Anybody could see him drop the deck he used from his pocket, or inside his pants leg when they audience through the decks. That was not a random deck he picked from "the closest one to his right leg", where he dropped it from. Penn and Teller were certainly not fooled by this.
@brentbraunmagic Жыл бұрын
Sure but that doesn’t explain how the card was at the number that was freely selected after the cards were spread on the table. 🤔

It’s important to point out that because Fool Us is a game show the selected volunteers are not allowed to be in on the trick. That’s because there is a cash prize and it’s filmed in Nevada which meets it needs to meet game show laws. I hope that helps clear a few things up.

Nice trick. If you slow the video at about 2:31, unless the cards are stuck together you can see the card she selected is not the 3 of diamonds, it never falls down to the top of the deck, so you've forced the 3d somehow - my guess is it's then on the top of the deck. When you are showing her the whole remainder of the deck at 4:55, you never show her the top few cards, which reinforces that that's where the 3d is. I can't see when you swapped that in for the 41st card though. Your hand shape is odd at 5:00, which makes me think you've got the 3d in your palm at this point from the top of the deck, but I can't see you ever put it on the table after that!
