I can explain it in a word - Racketeering. Starting with Owe-Baah-Mao they've infiltrated this Chinese communist style coercion into the business world. Its for the profit of those on the inside, its ruinous for everyone else. Want an example? Working in the power industry, they want to shutdown all coal & gas plants. Ours have all the latest emission controls, so they didn't manage that way, so they "tighten up" our water discharge permit to impossible levels (measuring things like strontium, which comes in with the water we get, so it goes out in our waste because we don't generate it as a waste nor consume it as a product). The result is we have a "zero discharge" treatment system, the 2-5 million gallons a day of treated water we put back in the river (clean enough that wildlife flourished in our polishing ponds which discharged to the river), is now retained and evaporated in a desert area. The users down river are now without that water to use for crops and other vital uses. Nothing changed in what we put out, it was always viable water and still is. But trace elements which come down the river to us from the mountains are used by the ESG racketeers to push their agenda to make the power plants inoperable by forcing this cost on us, to the detriment of those downriver users (who still need the power anyway, of which the wind & solar the ESG mobsters push cannot meet reliable baseload demand).
