whoever gets a job with you best be driving a vdub. I am a bug plumber, electrician mechanic, body man, muffler guy, tire guy and that guy that just lost his 10 mm socket. I would love to work in an air-cooled shop again but have ties to Missouri

I bought a 70 in 2004 for $800, yellow. It was a turn key car. Had It’s fare share of rust, but still a solid car. My enjoyed that car for ten years. She loved to rally that thing! Drove it over the hill from Santa Cruz to San Jose at least once a week. She put many miles on that fun car. When we sold it for $1200, she still ran just as strong as the day we bought it! Only money we through at it was brakes and tires and tune ups/oil! My wife named it Dolphi! Great cars! Way cooler than a bug. But still, my preferred ride is the early bay window.

What's the latest on this shop? I googled them after watching the video. Says "permanently closed" and a few negative reviews about lawsuits etc...

I have a 1966 coupe, but in my opinion a 69 kg would be nice because it has IRS rear suspension at front disc brakes, with a old style body with the smaller tail lights

I drive my bug daily because it’s the only car I own! Bought it when I was 19ish, and blew up and replaced the engine at 22 ish. It takes work to drive a classic car daily. But life is short and the feeling and experience is 100% worth it if you aren’t a sissy! I’m a firm believer in the idea that the required maintenance on old cars is actually what triggered so many people to be car nuts. In My generation (younger generation) you don’t see as many grease monkeys. I believe it’s because new cars require less maintenance, and people have been conditioned to view their cars more as replaceable appliances, and maintenance has become more of an annoying after thought. Destroying my original bug engine may have been the most important learning experience of my life… I am now 27 and still driving my yellow 75 type 1 baby!!!! (Not super) I like to camp/ hot spring, and my beetle has been to places in Nevada/California that people would just never believe a car of its size could go.
