17 years ago, i was 18 and life seemed way more chill... no social media, people pretending through pictures, no hashtag social justice, etc. just people enjoying life and minding their own business and paying attention to what was going on around them, not every bad thing happening 1000's of miles away. BTW, I had to carry one of these TV's up two flights of stairs and was heavy AF.

I wish somebody could make CRTs again...
@ZuneTech2008 Жыл бұрын
My dream is to create an entire factory to manufacture CRTs and make them available everywhere across the world. While the CRTs themselves will still be old, the TVs will meet today's standards by providing a more sharper image, higher refresh rates, and the ability to use Component, RCA and HDMI set-top boxes on them, and the TVs will also be capable of working as computer monitors. I just need some sand to convert it into glass for manufacturing the tube first.
@Warp2090 Жыл бұрын
same :D @@ZuneTech2008 EDIT: my factory would make high end crt's, similar to sony pvm's, and console crts for home use. And crt montors. I would also make vcr's and hd vcr's

The pinnacle of CRT TV technology! Wish those TVs would be made again.
@skateitblank222224 жыл бұрын
Not really the “pinnacle” per se. It’s digital (as opposed to the usual analog CRT), so it has inherent latency. Video scaling sucks on these with lower resolutions, too. PVM’s and BVM’s are the height of crt technology. Even multiformat 16:9 ones exist. With accurate 4:3/lower res display. Digital is easier/futuristic. But analog video reaches heights that digital can’t with older content.
@danielricardo50292 жыл бұрын
@Clint O'Connell BVM yes, PVM no.
@danielricardo50292 жыл бұрын
@Clint O'Connell 1080i max. If you want HD you're better of with a PC CRT, mine can effortlessly do 1440p, a widescreen one is freaking expensive but if you're ok with 4:3 you can get a high quality PC CRT for as low as 10 bucks on a garage sale.

UK had them. Search “Sony WEGA”
@FreeKraps5 жыл бұрын
Yes but they were less common and also way less equipped in the back. Most of them just had three scart inputs and a R/L rca output. The Philips Cineos 32PW9551 was a popular one with hdmi.
@Wobble20073 жыл бұрын
@@19seventy97 No, the last gen Sony WEGA's in the UK were not HD unfortunately, they were however progressive capable (480p) so were in fact EDTV, I have looked far and wide for years for an HD Sony in the U.K. and have found nothing, not even an import, there however was one HD CRT released in the U.K., by Samsung known as the Slimfit T.V that was "HD Ready", so not 1080p, up to 1080i and 720p capable, I haven't been able to source one of those either. There was also very expensive high-end CRT's from Panasonic and Philips, the Philips one was known as Pixel plus, they advertised it as being double the lines as normal T.V's, the Panny one was called Acuity Plus and did the same thing. The tubes they used were also classed as having higher clarity and sharpness too and were reportedly capable of being full HD but was disabled in the software. They were supposedly the best consumer CRT T.V's ever made, actually producing higher clarity and fidelity than HD CRT's even though they were not advertised as being HD CRTs. I now have a Pioneer Kuro which has the closest to a HD CRT PQ that I have ever seen, so I am glad and grateful to have that, I'd still like an HD Trinitron T.V though.
