Hello, please tell me how you solve the problem with the closed aperture in this 16x CL lens: as far as I know, all the lens automation works according to the outdated SPI protocol, and it is not possible to open the aperture by applying voltage to the bayonet contacts - this is controlled by software. Maybe you disassemble the lens and remove the aperture curtains? Thank you

I used this more for fun its defiantly not ideal for events more for casual artsy photos, (this video at 9:12 for examples) sadly my camera died and I have not been able to replace it yet to test out more stuff.

I also have the same lens, but when it's not attached to the body, no light passes through the lens at all, it's completely dark. Is yours the same way, or is there something wrong with mine? It seems like you haven't used an electronic connection because the aperture value isn't showing. I was wondering if there's a part inside that moves after it's connected.

I want try this lens on my full spectrum A7s too. Is this lens worth buying? There is very little information about this lens, how many elements/groups it has? How good is photo quality, can it focus to infinity? will AF/OIS work with using EF to E mount adapter such as Sigma MC-11 or Metabones V?

I think the flange is the wrong size to canon DSLR camera and pins is in reverse, I'm thinking modding the one have with a canon 50mm f/1.8 as a test.

@@ZeoMetta Oh That is great. If I am not wrong. I have seen your where you made your own adapter by cutting off excess metal. I wish to something similar but for a C mount camera. My sensor is just 7mm in diagonal, which should not cause any vignetting. What do you think of just 3d printing a adapter.? The purpose is just for lab experiments.

What is going on are they tight? if that's the case depending on your choice of tools you can grab a pair of pliers and get some more leverage but keep good pressure down on the screw so you don't strip the head. remember to take your time its not a race. 😁 👍

Heyyy, I have a CL VL 8-120mm adapted to a Pentax Q. Works great although there's some odd flange distance wonkyness, the listed flange distance didn't work; possibly some electronically controlled mechanism that made it so. It's exciting seeing others use lenses like these. ❤

It focuses from the front element in macro mode to infinity in the normal mode and covers the entire sensor too! It's a really sweet match. I have photos on my Tumblr by the same name where i've used the setup id you're curious on the results.

Its not a full frame lens haha but with the right tools and a tinker mind you can do anything. I got it to work better on my A6000 but its always cool to me seeing the distortions on a full frame.

The problem with my battery was a bad solder joint, I reflowed and it worked again. I've said it a few times in the comments but I didn't make a update video. You can also look at the fuse or check your cells.

Im not too sure but I think in my case it was getting too hot and started melting up the filament maybe? I no longer have this printer so I can't do any tests..

Hello, I managed to fix this problem on my Sony A6300 without having to change the slot, I went to a service and they removed the sony memory stick (which is where the problem is), and left it only for the sd card.

I love the way this lens works on both my A7S and A6000 (works better on the crop sensor vs full frame with my experience) its not a every day lens but for macro im in love with it!

Unless you can find a zero flange distance adapter for your XL mount lens there would be no way to use it on a dslr , even if you could it would never focus to infinity

I make my own adaptors, havnt had time to do much more with this lens but I got another lens just like this to work on both my A6000 and A7S a few videos back. Not perfect by any stretch but very unique raw style. 😁

I actually had to custom fit it but I used a m42 thread and a m42 to e mount adapter I found on a Ebay lens lot 😁 but you can use whatever fits your camera

I think it was with my Canon 50mm F1.8 with a 3d printed extension 🤔 but im not 100% sure anymore 7months feels like forever ago.. I wish I had more time to do videos I definitely miss it a lot
