A trick for the water cooling: put a sealed jug of water in bucked of water that has been frozen. That will keep the water in the bucket cold, and most jobs don’t last long enough to thaw a jug. If yours do, then get a bigger bucket and more jugs.
@Mitch3D5 ай бұрын
I have a 5gal bucket with distilled water (and RV anti-freeze to keep it from getting mildew) but the basement stays fairly cool year round and I haven't even gone above 30C yet.

Because if you aren’t monitoring the printer, it can automatically continue printing with the same color if one spool runs out.

Even using micropython the timing didn't seem to be much of an issue. The solenoid valves only had 100ms reaction times anyway. What's more impressive is getting SBUS data from a frsky receiver with fairly low latency.

The motherboard died on it early last year and because systems (miniITX specifically) and GPU's were expensive I bought an alienware desktop on a good discount. It has a raspberry Pi for the screen so it could still be used as a computer if I wanted. The old components though I have planned for another printed case mod that I'm working on with another youtuber, should have something by the end of this year.

Finished building my enclosure today, just foam seals and handles for everything after paint, Your table with take some of the vibration from noise, I have my PrintNC at my work which is a retail store so it has to be ‘polite’ I’ve used 19mm Ply with silicone and paint and I’ll keep adding layers until quiet, potentially you could add sound pyramids on the inside, I find the vacumn and smaller bits make the most noise

Mitch if you would like I may be able to assist you with the fabrication of the enclosure around your machine...If you still live in DFW area you can get the dimensions and we can build over here and design so you can be taken apart and moved then re assembled... Presently I'm in Grand Prairie so it should not be to far for you to travel...I'm retired so I can help any time... But in the meantime, your CNC Unit is coming along very nice...Looking forward to seeing it up and running and what you'll be able to achieve...

Hey. I've been looking at building one of these too. I hope you make a review video when you are finished. I'm in north Dallas. I have a tormach and bridgeport, reach out if you ever need parts made for your build.
@Mitch3D2 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I used the Dallas makerspace Bridgeport but you really don't need machine tools to build the printnc. The Z axis plates are the only thing maybe. There's another printnc builder in Dallas that makes and sells Z-plates. I'm going to be in between jobs and might move so this project is going to be in limbo.

Thinking of building a PrintNC... Did you ever finish? Not gonna lie, I'm a little worried I'll ever finish mine. Thinking of maybe just buying a 6040 or 6090 instead. Thoughts?
@Mitch3D2 жыл бұрын
No I've stalled building it. I had personal stuff going on and want to get motivated to get it cutting so I can build the enclosure.
@Mitch3D2 жыл бұрын
To answer your question, I think the PrintNC is totally worth it. You can customize the work area you want, it's sturdier than the 6040 and you can get better electronics and software than Mach 3.
@TheWP2 жыл бұрын
@@Mitch3D Thanks for the honest reply! I have a 2 month old now, so like I said - a little worried I'd ever actually finish it. I've been researching it for awhile now, and yeah - that's what I like about it - it's super sturdy, uses higher power motors, and ends up costing less. But would I ever get to use it? Not too sure... lol Look forward to next video nonetheless. Thanks Mitch!

@@TheWP I'm not actually sure what I'll make with this machine other than aluminum parts for itself. Part of this is to learn CNC skills for bigger machines like a HAAS.
@MattJonesYT2 жыл бұрын
The sound foam does not stop sound transmission. It only reduces echoes. In order to make it quieter on the other side of the wall you need to add mass not diffusion. Basically it needs to be an airtight and heavy enclosure for it to be effective at reducing sound transmission.

Yeah I realized the acoustic tiles won't do much but I do plan on building a double wall enclosure.
