@rowdyredneck19754 жыл бұрын
They're not worth much. Diesels are worth a little more. Mine is gas. I called a machinery wrecking yard about mine and they offered $300 for it. They told me I'd be better off cutting it up for scrap.
@TinnonFamilyFarm4 жыл бұрын
@@rowdyredneck1975 do you think it would be hard to cut up
@rowdyredneck19754 жыл бұрын
@@TinnonFamilyFarm Very time consuming and you'd go through a lot of gas and oxygen with the torch. If you have a way of loading and hauling it to the scrap yard that would probably be easier. It wouldn't hurt to advertise it too. There is still some interest in small diesel combines but gas ones are about worthless.

Why didn't you put the FORD letters back on the hood?
@rowdyredneck19754 жыл бұрын
It never had them. Those letters were only used in 1980-81. In 1982 they put the Ford emblem in the center of the grille and eliminated the hood lettering.

I can’t tell you how nice and wonderful it is to see someone else going through the same process if not similar for such gorgeous vehicles just started working on a 1983. I have two questions not sure if you would get around to me. But did you replace the dash? As well as the fuel sending system?
@rowdyredneck19755 жыл бұрын
Yes, the dash pad was replaced because the speaker grill was cracked and broken which is a very common problem with these trucks. I bought a new reproduction from Dashes Direct. They're not cheap but they are made with the original Ford tooling so they fit and look original. This was originally a 351W truck and I'm still using the original fuel system. 460 trucks used a return line to prevent vapor lock. I have had some problems with that in the past, but wrapping the fuel lines with reflective heat wrap solved the issue.

Looking pretty mint! I’ve got an 86 f250 like this, someday going to toss the d44hd for a d60 out of my f350, and possibly the zf5. I’ve heard people say the zf5 is noisy without a dual mass flywheel but also that the DMF sucks. What did you end up with? My zf5 isn’t loud but again, can’t say I know what’s in it for a flywheel. My f250 currently has a c6
@rowdyredneck19755 жыл бұрын
I did the Dana 60 swap about a year or two after I made this video, new video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGnGhWWQiMllh9U Dual mass flywheel is diesel only, all gas engines used a regular flywheel. There is a slight gear rollover noise at idle but its not bad at all. The ZF can be pretty noisy on a diesel without a dual mass flywheel though. It does help some if you overfill it by pouring an extra quart of fluid through the shifter hole.
