Not that this is a gilmour trick or whatever but one of my favorite things in this pedal is the reverse delay because you can set it to a loud wet signal and low repeats - and ultra fast tempos yield amazing ring mod sounds (like in the 2000bpm and up kinda realm) and if got a sweet ring mod type sound and bring that tempo back down to like 200 ish bpm it sounds kinda like their super phaser in step-phase mode. Going slower in bpm in the 50 bpm and under realm it does nice trippy Soma-style reverse echos we are more accustomed to. But man the upper Bpm range of this in many modes is what makes it so special. And it can layover the previous preset so if you want a long tail and lots of regen in one preset and hit a big note then kick forward to the next preset like a slap back or modulation sound this produces - but you have that sweet tail from the previous preset. This can get creative. Obviously it's common to use the looper then preset up to get a echo tone soloing over the looper

The reverse delay I've used for some almost glide-style shoegaze. There's so much the ME50 can do, I hope to do a part 2 eventually.

Im pretty sure that's the big muff I want to get.the civil war big muff is the one I've played with once back in the day that sounded good but I got a jhs crimson and it's not even close and the green Russian reissue and an old black Russian weren't anywhere really close so far a triangle big muff clone and a standard deluxe big muff reissue have gotten me the closest to the sound I'm trying to find but they vary so much finding the perfect one I'm gonna have to just go through a huge pile of different muffs until I find the right one I had a pretty good NYC big muff in the huge enclosure but it didn't have very much output and would sound good on one amp and crap on the rest
@thebreakfastmenu6 күн бұрын
@@wesmitchem825 Big Muffs are strange because they can vary so much. My buddy got a green Russian and it sounds nothing like my green Russian. And that sounds a bit different than this deluxe with the extra features off. So sometimes you gotta just sift through em until you find the “right” one. But having a mid control helps locate a certain sound exponentially!

We are so spoiled today. Pretty much all the gear out there will give you tones that are far better than good enough. We have been programmed that to sound good you need the most expensive tube amp etc... I agree It is far better to work on your technique than the endless hunt for that magic piece of gear.

Hey everyone! My best friend and I made this video months ago. The owner of the property pulled up while we were trespassing. He was super chill about us making a music video. So that's pretty rad of him. I made the questionable decision to degrade the definition to VHS quality and the mix is slightly different than what's on the album, too. Hope that's okay. Anyway, hope you all like it. <3

@@MortyParko thank you! You don’t need a looper, it’s a totally separate thing. I just used it here for the backing tracks so I had something to play along to! ME50s are great for novices! But. The channel is at 1.6k subs, so thank you for putting up with my subpar noise! Oh and sorry KZbin had some hiccups at some points and the music jumps to different sections a few times. Over 2 full minutes were lost to KZbin's void. Sorry about that! It ran fine on Twitch so... Anyway. Happy Halloween, and I hope you enjoy!

Hi. Great job. Can you share what the settings on the patch(es) are? Thanks
@thebreakfastmenu2 ай бұрын
Thanks! If I recall correctly, I used the Big Muff setting for "Time" with all the knobs maxed. I think I used the Rat setting for all other distortion tones with the knobs all between 1-2 o'clock. I used stereo chorus 1 with the level up all the way, depth about 2oclock, and rate about 10oclock. The Univibe I think might have been about the same settings... Delay was the analog setting with all knobs around 1-2 oclock. Compressor had both knobs at noon, nose suppressor was at 1ish oclock. I THINK I might have used the "Fat" setting on the Tone Modify knob, but I might have used the Presence setting. That's about it.

Great review and you nailed!, Question: Since you are using in stomp mode (no patches)., How do you get two different OD sounds, say... one for crunch and one for leads? Do you add any OD or Booster pedal to the input of the ME-50?
@thebreakfastmenu3 ай бұрын
Thanks! In this video I only used the ME50. So you can only have one overdrive/distortion selected at a time. So you really only get 2 gain stages; clean and dirty. It's a compromise. I use a Boss SD1 for light gain when I stream or play live these days.
