Just got the devastating news that my old friend Johnny Lara (Dtroy) has passed. I was the one who actually introduced him to Axis & Allies when I brought the game over to his house back in high school and played it on his living room coffee table. Never imagined he would take such an interest in it and have such passion for it. This channel, the painting of the pieces, the map creation, this community. Spread your wings brother. It was an honor to have known you.

I don't know if anyone other than me is still watching these videos. Loving the series and commentary. One note on the carrier casualties: it's my understanding that it goes against the OOB rules to take carrier casualties that prevent aircraft from landing.

I would think those players that you have mention would still be good players in any tournaments, not just the BBR tournament.
@axisallies-thegarrison25338 ай бұрын
I agree, remember that the vast majority of BBR Players originally started with the Original Axis&Allies classic game and went on to play the other versions produced. So, by default they would make excellent players since the game mechanics and game principles are the essentially the same.

Newbie Alert. What is BBR? How do I follow SiredBlood?
@axisallies-thegarrison25338 ай бұрын
BBR is an Axis&Allies game variant that provides for a shorter more engaging, more strategy version of the game that can be played in 8 turns. Let me look up the link for you since he recently moved over to Discord. You can also join our WhatsApp community where we talk everything game related. My email is [email protected].

Hey, folks always love hearing the great Counselor of Betazoid reknown wax eloquent. Sounds like BBR 41 will advance the game a turn with a new setup to create a new dynamic. The key will be the setup. It has to be just right.
@axisallies-thegarrison25338 ай бұрын
Sired I am sure will come through with an excellent game variant. No doubt about that.

Dtroy, everything happens for a reason. Maybe a higher power got you and your beautiful Fam to a much better place. Look, you are rebuilding!
@Teflon20178 ай бұрын
On another note, our philosophy continues to align. We need to grow. Maybe Rob could keep STL as BBR 6 while ATL goes 1941. Then folks would have options.
@Teflon20178 ай бұрын
Tamvan is truly a wonderful soul. I will always owe him big time cause he introduced me to my new best bud in Hawaii Maj Tom. We got to play ATL 6 and were literally one battle away from winning both our games (Med Day 1 & Belarus Day 2). Unfortunately, this push for only high score teams going to ATL will mean we can only go Chicago or STL. Has our great one SB settled on that? Didn't see a vid yet...?

Love this video D-Troy. Personally speaking, I believe that you can only evolve a ruleset so far. There will come a point where continued changes are no longer helping game play and are just adding layers of complication. Perhaps Sired felt BBR had hit that point? For me, BBR was always about adopting the things I liked and the things that I felt made my home game better. For example, I was never crazy about Canada being its own country, but liked the idea of the British government in exile there if London is taken. Same with the map changes. Most of them I think improved game play, but some seemed unnecessary. Going forward there is a community of talented people that can continue to make tweaks and suggestions for improved game play or simply new challenges. IMO BBR is not dead while people are playing it...
@axisallies-thegarrison25338 ай бұрын
All great points and food for thought. I genuinely believe that there will be enough room for both variants. My hope though is that Sired Blood will continue to help with improving BBR 40.

Hover tanks, from an A&A expansion 1990's Table Tactics, cost 5, can cross from coast to coast within the same sea zone, attack 2 defending 2 and moving 2...these don't neec transports unless crossing multiple sea zones. Our bombers always doubled as air transport for combat and no combat infantry use, one bomber carries one infantry.. a few options can be easily added for combat restrictions.
