Hey there. I just stumbled on this video. I have recently acquired serial number 4, also a 2005 prototype. I am in the process of restoring this sled as it’s been sitting in a field for years and full of mice. It was pre mechanical fuel pump as well. It only had the 1 HP pump in the tank. I’m looking at installing a fuel pressure gauge as well. Do you have the list of parts and any pics of how and where to mount the gauge? Thanks, love the video.
@skidoojunky623019 күн бұрын
Yes, autometer atm3312 gauge, atm2121 gauge mounting cup. A 2’ stainless fuel line with no 4an female ends on both, 4an male run T, 2 of 4an female to 1/4” hose barb push lock fittings and 2 eyelet solderless connectors to hook up the backlight on the pressure gauge to the backlight on the fuel gauge.

@@skidoojunky6230 thank you sir. I think I see you put the gauge on the side of the pod.

Hey Dustin what an amazing collection you have sir. I’m a Mach z lover as well. I’m in search of an exhaust side belly pan for my Mike Houle would you know of any left I existence?
@skidoojunky623022 күн бұрын
I have a complete set of new ones but I would like to keep them. You might try Fullertons PAC in Canada. Last I knew they had a couple of new ones still. I cannot remember which side though.
@trevormacintosh591622 күн бұрын
@@skidoojunky6230 I was lucky enough to find a clutch side but no luck on the exhaust side. Fullertons didn’t have anything but I’m searching anywhere I can. If you happen to run across one or a set let me know it would finish my restoration. Thanks

@@skidoojunky6230 hi Devon, is there anything special about the James Bond edition Mxz 600? I have a chance to buy one with about 1800 miles on it, it seems to be missing the decals on the hood. Everything else looks legit.

I have never ridden a REV chassis sled. Newest I’ve ever ridden was an F2000 chassis.

I had the economy variant of this, the 95 Formula SS 670. Smaller carbs, single pipe, manual disc brake. It still was a super fun sled to ride.

Do you know of anything on the motor that would prove it has the x package? I just picked up a 94 with the mxzx on the hood, but how do you know if someone didn't just slap an x sticker on it?
@skidoojunky62302 ай бұрын
The easiest way to tell without taking it apart is the “X kit” had different cylinders in it that had RAVE valve ports in them that were blocked off. The stock 94 MXZ cylinders did not. If in doubt text or email me a picture of the cylinders/Y pipe and I will let you know.

Amazing in this day that the Mach 1 would sit that long and you got it. Years ago it was a similar story to some that I got, but today there are just too many people in tye market, many just lookimg to make money. My buddy Jeff and I used to joke when one of these came up for sale was that the only people that got excited was him and I. We were lucky to get into them at the right time, because getting them now is very different. Thanks for the video guys!

I had a 1988 MX brand new back in the day. I can't say i enjoyed it. Motor ran well and that was about it. Every time I see a PRS chassis my back still remembers...😳 You're one of the first people to give credit to the Karpick guys in their design. People forget about that. Gerard raced the RV's pretty well but it didn't translate to this chassis. I get that they wanted to be different than the other brands but it just didn't work in Cross county. Ovals they did great on. At 57 years old my buddies convinced me to get a 94 STX 583 that was in great shape that I take on vintage rides with. I even entered it in snow show. But my original opinion i was still skeptical about it. Lol It actually isn't too bad to ride since it's a trail sled. I'm a Skidoo guy all the way since I was 5! Going to the same dealership too! Keep up the great work!
@skidoojunky62304 ай бұрын
The PRS chassis is not one for rough trails that’s for sure! But get me a hard packed freshly groomed trail and they handle like they are on rails!
@robertreinhart75574 ай бұрын
Hahaha Yes! I was a Beast in the Twisties with it back in the day. Then we'd get to the straight aways... And they're gone. 😕 Lol I always joke with my dealer that I keep getting faster and better sleds and drive slower... 🤷😂 How many times do you see a Kool looking wrapped sled going down the driving fast and when you see them at the bar, it's some Old guy like me with grey hair. 🤦😂

Very cool. I had a 1986 formula mx 470. That rear skid looks wildly different, sliding rear coupler being most noticeable. The prs front suspension left a lot to be desired. I’ve never really heard someone really break it down, possibly could be a video idea?
