Two Soundboks or Electrotec Stage One's + 2 DFBs, YES, you'll be able to do that. If you're in a really large venue, you might need 1-2 more additional SB's or SO's to fill the space, but a 2x2 setup should be fine for 200 people.

Hi, I have two Soundboks 4 and wondering is there will be a significant difference if I add a Death From Below to them, so is there a samples with and without the subwoofer , thank you ?

Hiya! It's always going to be hard to judge the difference over a phone speaker or even through headphones - but we can confirm it's a significant extension in the low end, especially when using it in the SOUNDBOKS specific EQ preset. We have a couple of shorts on our channel going over the difference with and without!

What's the difference in sound quality if I use a splitter that's TS (unbalanced) vs a splitter that's TRS (balanced)? Does the level of interference differ if I'm using a smartphone or tablet to play music out of?

Thanks for the video! I already own a Soundboks 4 and am thinking of adding a DFB for outside use. I have two questions: 1. Can the DFB properly handle rain, both just sitting there, playing music and being carried, i.e. with the power input and button directly facing the rain? 2. If I connect the Soundboks via XLR to my mixer and connect the DFB via Skaa to the Soundboks, is the latency low enough for DJing (with some effects, filters...) 140+ BPM music like Techno or Trance?
@SKAAsound
@SKAAsound 2 ай бұрын
1. DFB is not officially water resistant, so it is not recommended to expose it to excessive water or moisture. The top, sides, and back are not going to be an issue, but you definitely don't want to get water in the front panel, or especially not in the ports. However, if it rains a little bit during a gig, you will likely be fine. Just tip the DFB forward a bit by putting something under the back feet to keep water out of the ports. 2. XLR to SB and then SKAA to DFB will be just fine for DJ'ing. Just make sure to put Soundboks in "SKAA Pro" mode in the Soundboks app. This lowers the latency to 19 ms, going to all receivers.

Obviously these are very niche, perform well and serve a purpose, but they are SO big it’s probably easier and cheaper at that scale to just use conventional gear with a large capacity power station? The sub looks like boutique studio gear so not built road rugged, and it doesn’t appear to have ANY audio in/out connectors so you can’t use it with any other brand, battery powered BT PA speakers and just run an xlr to the sub? You have to go Soundboks or buy the tx/rx gear which makes a fantastic looking sub immediately incompatible with 99% of gear out there? Why?🤔
@SKAAsound
@SKAAsound 2 ай бұрын
The whole point of SKAA is to avoid Bluetooth - for lower latencies, and better audio quality - and also to eliminate the need for any long cable runs, and eliminate the need for power. It's certainly a niche thing, but we are fine with that. The idea is that you can take 1 Pro Audio transmitter and connect any DJ deck or mixer to it, and then send audio wirelessly to 2 Soundboks + 2 DFBs. Bringing conventional gear would mean: cables every where, possibly amplifiers needed if your speakers are passive, and if your power is a portable power station, you're adding $1-2k at least for a high capacity one, and it will not likely give you enough long lasting power. With Dani, Soundboks and DFB you could probably play 2 long gigs without needing a recharge. We are also working with other companies to develop additional wireless receiver options - for example Electronic Stage One speakers can also be used in the same way. And if latency isn't an issue and you prefer not using a SKAA transmitter, you can connect to 1 Soundboks via Bluetooth, then use Soundboks' TeamUp feature to connect to the DFB wirelessly - no need for XLR chaining. You can actually connect to up to 4 additional receivers from a single Soundboks, using TeamUp. So just using BT and 5 speakers you could create a completely wireless battery powered sound system for a venue or event. We did a video on this TeamUp feature here, although, we call it "Nadja" in the SKAA world. That portion starts around the 3 minute mark. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHmcc2ynf5Jpebsfeature=shared

@@SKAAsoundSounds great but like I said, if you already have 2 good battery powered top speakers and want the new battery powered sub you need to start from scratch with soundboks. Shame. I’d buy the sub but only if it had a simple xlr in. As it stands It’s too proprietary for my needs. Thanks for the info.👍

@@SKAAsound I have to say, as a (current) owner of two DFB, I appreciate the niche and proprietary features of them- but where I do draw the line is they should come with an XLR in just as the other commenter says. Everything else about them is great but it's a level of inflexibility that is a tough pill to swallow.
