Never ending While loop will do the same thing...took me entirely too long to find why my Wemos D1 Mini was in an infinite boot loop and found that it wasn't coming out of one of the While Loops within X time. Does seem that there is a time limit as 5 seconds is too long but 3 seconds seems to be ok. Had to check to see if the while loop was continuously being run and after 3 seconds break out. Another reason I found out on the interwebs was using attachinterrupt on an ESP device, the way around this is before the Setup() function is to add void ICACHE_RAM_ATTR {name of function that will run}(); do this without the curly brackets of course.

Wow Stuart. My 91 year old dad and I bought all the supplies and ordered up the part you designed from the place in the UK you pointed us to and after getting stuck on the soldering step, we went and bought a soldering kit with a soldering iron that heated up to a higher temperature then the one we were using, and breezed right through that step and then we installed the new bulb into the Sears Automatic Super 8 projector which is just like the one you were working with and it WORKED! Our projector had burned through the lamp 3 times and we kept buying a new one and didn't understand what was going on?? Dad said he thought it had to do with amperage or something... We are so excited to now have a working projector to play the 53 Super 8 3.5 inch reels to find out what is on them from 1966-1974 and try and digitize them once we know which ones haven't been compromised by the age and are in good enough condition to still be transferred. Thank you so much for this tutorial I see nobody had commented so I wanted you to know that it has helped somebody retrieve memories that otherwise would have been lost!

Hi Stuart! I actually did a KZbin search and found this exact video you provided the link above to... I watched most of it and realized about 5 minutes into it that it was not going to be anything I would be able to do anything with. I also found it was easier to watch with the volume off and the auto-generated subtitles on. He certainly ads a lot of extra-commentary. ;-) (and in-jokes I didn't understand..) With regard to your work-around process above: dad and I completed it when I was last visiting and then I left to go home... I am visiting again for Christmas and we will pick up the project again.. We are at the point of loading the 53 Super 8 reels onto the projector to play and see what we have that's salveagable as mentioned above... So, with that in mind, your comment about it running hot - after how long? how to know its too hot? Will it melt the film or what? Thanks Stuart!

why one has to use a special BT-device to sniff, why i.e. PCs regular BT-adapter can't be used?
@StuartPatterson3 ай бұрын
I don't believe you do have to use a "middle-man" device anymore. In fact, that is discussed in the comments in the videos. Notice the year when this video was created, as you would expect with technology, things have changed, become easier, more apps, more tools, etc. You can sniff BLE traffic with your phone. The separate device, in my opinion, at the time, provided a clear view of all the BLE traffic and was how Nordic Semi recommended doing it and Wireshark makes filtering the packets easy - so much so that it might still be the best way of doing it. Now? Well you decide.
