Currently in my first playthrough, the valiant gargoyles were so ass. i beat them without summons, but the amount of times i finally managed to kill the first one only to be poisoned without enough healing to survive was so infuriating

Other than the placements of malenia and godskin duo I mostly agree with this list. One large inconsistency is you criticize the maliketh fight for his hard to dodge attack and then at the same time praise malenia for hers? I guess it’s just must more satisfying to dodge? I don’t know the combination of lifesteal and waterfowl is something that can’t be overlooked imo. Difficulty is definitely a balance when it comes to boss fights but those two mechanics have no business being in the same one. It sucks foo because she would easily be in top 5 for me if it wasn’t for the combination of both things just take out one or the other and she’s an amazingly balanced boss fight. It’s also one of the most frustrating things to dwindle down a health bar just to die to one attack consistently which was a criticism you gave to fire giant but not malenia. I’m beginning to sense some bias here lmao. Either way great video I just have to respectfully disagree in some areas.

When I fought the ancient wyvern for the first time it didn’t die to the plunging attack it just randomly died while I was trying to get to the plunging attack spot

I genuinely think this guy is half trolling because I've literally never seen someone put Godskin Duo above Godrick until now, and what's even weirder is that the guy doesn't provide any criticism for either of the 2 bosses. I was already suspicious when they basically put Fortisaxx below the Gargoyles, when one is infinitely more frustrating and needlessly difficult than the other, but that part of the video rubbed me the wrong way. It was especially kinda irritating when they said that they didn't even know shy the disliked the fight and that they simply jumped on the banwagon, which kinda implies that everyone else who dislikes the fight is also just following the general opinion on the 2.

i think a cool idea for radagon would A make elden beast an optiobal final boss like moon presence and B when you take down radagon you see the hair change to yellow and fight marika then about halfway the hair can change to orange or yellow signifying what attacks will be used then a combination of orange and yellow for big destructive attacks. ik its a lot but i would love to see someone implement that ps. love elden beast at least a top 15 boss for me and its probably because elden ring was the first souls game i completed

Fire giant and Fortisaxx placements prove to me that all fromsoft players want to do is swing their sword and dodge rather than try to find weak points or try different strategies, which is weird to me considering that you compared fortisaxx to Midir. next time fighting these bosses, just try that, you might end up enjoying the fights as i do.

Finally someone puts Malenia at number 1. No matter what playthrough I’m on I always save her for last and always die to her a lot and enjoy every bit of it. I have a tattoo of her and a poster of her. She is the model for what any hard optional boss should be

I feel like this review lacked depth. Many bosses were purposefully weak or strange in their design and has some really good lore that wasn’t accounted for in the video: •old demon king’s last stand where he’s all out of flame •yhorm pretty much being suicidal in the fight •the deacons were supposed to be a surprise. For players paying attention they would 100% expect aldritch to be there not the deacons. •aldritch having the best visual design in the entire game. Aldritch the devourer of gods is quite literally devouring a God during the boss fight. It also references nito and gwyndolin while still having a unique feel from them. I also feel like some bosses were favored, because they were set up to be a big fight. A fight doesn’t have to be grandiose to be good. I judge fights which are set up for success more harshly because they could very easily be so much more. Nameless felt to me like it missed the point of what made the character interesting in the first place. It was still an ok fight but it could have been so much more.

Fortissax's lighting strike only will trigger if you to under him its also clear er dragons are more made for spell users or ranged attacks whenever i fight any of them but placidusax i just use bolt of grannsax and using midir rules stay infront attack the head

Putting "Astel" and "enjoyable" in the same sentence literally makes no sense. The grab attack felt practically unavoidable and the tail slam felt like it had 2 i-frames. I fought her for an hour and a half before needing to swap to a dif build to kill her 😭

This video is peak! Obviously don't agree with all your takes but things wouldn't be interesting if we all agreed, right? Maliketh is my favorite, not just in ER but in gaming period. I love both phases. I noticed watching the video you dodge into Beast Clergyman a lot. Getting under him causes him to constantly disengage. Try rolling his dagger combos to the sides next time you fight him. This will bait his finisher which is highly punishable. Maybe that'll improve your opinion on the encounter, maybe not just thought I'd share. Also, I've always loved Mohg but the way you talked about it here just made me realize how great he actually is. Thanks!

Literal only eyebrow-raise take is that Midir is the only good dragon boss fromsoft has made, when really after playing both Placidusax and Midir, Midir really doesn't hold up as well as people nostalgic for DS3 might think

@@DuoFaceGaming Much more consistent, Placi can really drag at the end of the fight with him spamming teleports and the laser attack. The laser attack is extremely punishable but it's being such a comically large punish paired with the way you do it makes me think it was unintended. His repost doesn't reward you enough for how much poise he has. It's literally much more optimal to R1 spam while he's staggered than to take the repost which is kind of unsatisfying imo. His wing attack has a jank hitbox. His divebomb attack (the second variant) is extremely strange and I still don't understand how the attack works even though I can dodge it. IDK Midir is mechanically simple and pretty easy but I value consistency above all else and the fight is incredibly consistent.

@@BBQcheese Thing is, for me I find the Midir fight to be somewhat boring due to the mechanical simplicity, and thing is I'm not against a boss being mechanically simple, but a a secret bossfight against a dragon with more health than a majority of bosses in the game should be a little more mechanically complex imo Like the way the Placidusax fight slowly escalates, from him just sitting there, to him nuking the arena, to him eventually shooting through the sky and teleporting around, and finally the double laser breath attack, it feels like the more you fight Placidusax the more interesting the fight becomes Whereas with Midir, his mechanical simplicity makes him pretty easy to beat once you understand him, and having a boss with that much health despite that simplicity just makes his fight feel kinda tedious Like both bosses have similarly large health-pools but Placidusax makes draining that health-bar feel engaging and the fight escalates constantly, whereas Midir not doing that makes him feel comparatively unengaging Its really odd too because like, I felt my experience with Midir was more draining than Placidusax, even though I only died to Midir once, whereas Placidusax killed my 40 vigor ass quite a lot

@@DuoFaceGaming Yeah all of that is valid and I definitely agree that midir should have gotten more moves in his second phase but personally I'll always favor consistency. To each their own. TBH if we're being charitable here I think he meant that midir is the only really stellar dragon because he praised Placi quite a bit. Also, Kalameet is good too even if it's a bit of a dated fight.

There are many things completely wrong with this video. Gideon above the mimic tear, seriously? Fire giant does not deserve to be that low. Placidusax above Maliketh is dumb. He claims the destined death attack is bad but also likes waterfowl dance. His Fortissax opinion is terrible. Elden beast is not a bad boss. I couldn't get through this video.
