Looks like fun, is everyone riding mostly stock machines or are they all modded out? Even in the budget classes people throw a ton of money at it.
@3gsgarage1178 күн бұрын
I think there is a broad range of the level of mods and custom stuff out there in the leafer class. It's an open class so in theory a guy could show up with anything, and we did even see a guy with an enticer with a 700 triple stuffed into it. A good rider could go through a stock sled (maybe an upgraded track) to make sure everything is working proper and be very competitive I think though. Maybe not win, but could come home top 5 if really talented on a sled.
@petebusch90698 күн бұрын
Thanks for the reply, if its open then people will spend a ton of money on their "cheap" sled. I just want to race for fun and not get way into it.

Hi Guys!! Hope we have a winter this year,first car scrape this morning heavy frost,hope its the start of a great sledding season. Quick question,im doing a top end on an 89 SR 540,do you guys use any case sealant between the head and cylinder,cylinder gasjet to crank case and intake gaskets to cylinder? What do you guys use? Thanks in advance,looking forward to some more racing and rebuild vids soon.Keep on keepin' on!
@3gsgarage117Ай бұрын
Hey Shooter! It usually depends on how the surfaces look to me. If they have scrapes in them from prior razor scraping sometimes I'll use a light coat of sealant, but if they look nice and smooth and clean, I prefer to just use the gasket. I've used the grey permatex on most stuff and yamabond4 on the case halves.

I see that you guys have this one up for sale. Your add says that you're selling the sleds. Are you guys done making snowmobile videos?
@3gsgarage117Ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! We have a handful of sled for sale. The ones that we are selling are the ones we revived as trail units. We sold our cabin up north so I'm currently with too many sleds and not enough storage space. We are keeping all the race units, which is around a dozen, so there is still plenty to work on lol! As for the future vids, Keegan was the video editor, which is the hard work, and he grew tired of that so we are on a hiatus from making videos. I am hoping he will get the itch again once it gets colder. Thanks for watching!

Great video...As the founder of the 1966 Ford Full-Size Registry, I saw a few 1966 Galaxies and the '66 Country Squire. Not sure if you'll ever return to the place but if you do and with permission of the owner, photos of those car's drivers door dataplates would be a great addition to the registry database. Thank you. The Galaxies were seen at the following time marks. 2:02 2:19 24:05 27:23 27:39 28:55

18.22 that blue car no idea you said it's a GTO or Le mans 66 or 67! $$
Your call on the Toronado was bang on - it's either a '68 or '69. The front bumper was interchangeable on them, as was the rear. I've owned around 7 or 8 of those beast's over the years. Fun fact - they were the first SUCCESSFUL North American front wheel drive vehicle beginning in '66. Also that Celica may have had an 18-RC in it, at least that's what my '72 had.

What a waste of good cars that someone own for a long time and did not take care of them , make’s me sick ! Soon scarp metal , but will only get 1/2 value cause 1/2 rusted :( too much land too much money that’s our people ordered , i fixed many in the last 40 years , i I kept four of them for retirement fixing got one already done three more to go❤

The owner gave you guys a HUGE CLUE as to why he ain't sold out to any scrapyards. He'd rather sell the cars to the restoration community in some capacity. I agree with video hosts that most vehicles are rouched out & only good for parts, yet some exist amoungst us whom can bring such wreck new life. Those of us whom can work diligently over a few years on one single car with no distractions. Not I. Which is why I do agree with hosts. Hosts, your video seems dry on color to my eyes. Or had there been a forrest fire amoungst them cars?

12:34 Rootbeer ( metallic? ) Ford Pinto Hatchback. Read an archived Indiana accident report in a newpaper article. Two teenage girls lost their lives after being hit from behind. Their doors jammed, all occupants burned alive. The pintos were bad news. Here in the midsouth my sister owned a beautiful metallic ford royal blue pinto. We never knew of this being a death machine. Well I didn't. Maybe this article is why she sold it quick. She owned it fir less amount of years than any other car. Surely, some car resto genus can remod a pinto to be safe. Grimlins are neat, yet Pintos have curves.

I am a Classic Car man, But this is not being responaible for the land or invironment. The Groumd water is taminated for deveral miles around. This is unbelievable and the whole Estate should be Claimed against a family who allowed such a rape on the land. No Mercy.

Tonnage of glass and plastic bits to save, the 1973 - 1978 Ford windshields are apparently impossible to find, so imagine all of the wagon glass and wraparound windshields and rear glass that is irreplaceable ! Didn't see any whole cars or trucks that could be saved, they all looked too rotted.
@robertfrancis69678 ай бұрын
The glass fell victim to the ERA 80's you had 4 channels on TV , so Demo derby was practically nightly with 70s boats wagons especially and the monster truck was born n crushed 100,000 of thousands of 70s cars before they started back flipping n steel got expensive so scrap price went through the roof and lots of subdivisions needed junkyard land to build suburbia during the awesome Reaganomics years before the bottom fell out of the junk bond and Ollie North got busted trading blow for bang

You pretty much said it, it's a parts yard there's not much of anything there to worry about being scrapped, if you want to save anything I'd take the ford station wagons, the 60s impalas, and just the good parts off the other cars, the chevy wagons came with 12 bolt rearends and big blocks sometimes, also the chevy vans in the 70s had high Nickle engine blocks, you might look over the fords for Cleveland and Windsor engines and 9 inch rearends.👍
