My wife and I have stayed at this home and it's absolutely beautiful.

Owner books family in UNSOLVED MURDER house with BROKEN door locks Upon arrival, the owners’ asst., Leslie, showed us a sliding glass door to pool deck with broken lock stating that previous guest had broken it. A safety issue with 2 small kids. We weren’t happy, but said with the remote location there probably is no crime to be worried about. Leslie said, “You’d be surprised”, which we thought was odd but pressed on. After placing groceries in fridge, the alarm began sounding showing 60 degrees. We fixed it by defrosting fridge as no offer was made from owner to resolve situation. We discovered ANOTHER SET OF SLIDING DOORS IN MASTER BEDROOM BROKEN AND UNLOCKABLE AND DID NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY. No window coverings, missing screens, non-working light in plunge pool (ridiculously explained by owner “the light spoils the ambience”), mold on back of pillows in master, moldy wooden spoon in kitchen, ants. Severely warped, unsecured open bathroom window. Wi-fi hot spot time VERY limited, expired in less than 1 day. The drive is EXTREMELY hazardous, miles of narrow one-way roads with no guard rails on steep cliffs! Definitely not for the faint of heart. It is EXTREMELY remote with no security or timely police or emergency response possible. We were completely stunned when a friend informed us of the UNSOLVED MURDER AND BREAK IN that took place in this property in November 2014. There was a brutal homicide in the very room we slept (WITH BROKEN SLIDING GLASS DOOR). Although we understand that you would not want to advertise the unsolved murder at the rental, we DO expect the owner to have taken reasonable minimal security measures to ensure comfort and safety of guests. We expected doors with locks and security gate that could not be simply walked around with ease. We expected window coverings for privacy and security in bedrooms and front door. I’m absolutely horrified that they put my family in that position. I thank God we left before we found out about the UNSOLVED MURDER! We left the villa after 1 night and forced to stay at the ONLY and most EXPENSIVE resort available on the island at way more than what we had planned to pay for this trip. Owners refused to fully refund our villa rental fee.
