I'd like to take this time to express my sympathy for anyone who has to mount Amanda Fuller. Thanks for taking one for the team buddy, Matthew Bryan Feld. Without you, some unsuspecting man or woman might have been saddled with her. Literally. Americans everywhere salute your self sacrifice and bravery.🫡

It’s like doctors see how much women can take before we break or worse harm ourselves. I really felt that today. It was the first time my doctor even brought up endo herself. But her exact words were well you want help but the only help is birth control and you don’t want to be on it.

This is how I feel today after 20+ years of being dismissed. I had an appointment today for extreme lower back and abdomen pain. And I knew it was going to be the same talk of birth control or iud. I felt like walking out. I should’ve canceled the appointment because I knew exactly how it was going to go and I just cried all the way home. Mind you I have pcos and firoids and had been on birth control for 15 years on and off. Had super bad depression went off never felt better until the last 3 years of having 3 month long periods and 1-2 months off. I literally feel like I’m dying from the inside out. The amount of symptoms I have on and off my period feels like I’ll never live a day without pain. I have no good relationships because people don’t get the pain and draining of bleeding for so long for so many years. I want to give up.

“Did it take me a lot longer than some people? Absolutely” Yeah, but those people weren’t even in the race. You were essentially a pioneer in a criminally understudied field. Thank you for being a part of pushing the research forward! You walked so we could run, and your efforts are why we have more endometriosis research happening today 😊

Have to disagree about there being no such thing as “adeno belly.” How would an enlarged uterus NOT cause swelling and inflammation lol?

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2018 while having my tube’s tied. Later adenomyosis and enlarged uterus was diagnosed in 2024. I am 45 and dealing with painful cramps became normal and I just would push through the pain of raising kids and doing what needed to be done. Aspirin was my go to often. The marina IUD was put in recently and it’s definitely helped a lot. I am looking forward to the thinner lining to occur of the uterus. Plus I no longer have periods is a bonus. Hopefully this IUD gets me through till I turn 52 and I can except menopause at a normal age. 😊

I have been tested for 14 years and everything is always negative until last week. I was in severe pain (flare-up) and a P.A. from urgent care actually cared enough to speak to a colleague , another P.A. in Rheumatology, and order tests outside of the usual. Those two ladies discovered the issue. Even before the blood test results, they knew it was rheumatologist condition. The other two rheumatologists prior to this blew me off and just did not believe me. If you don’t have a doctor that cares and is thorough, I feel like you are not going to get answers, and it is not right.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and your daughter, my sincire condolences. 😔 This story hits home, I've been suicidal my entire teen years, and one of the reasons was because I was going through horrible gynecologal issues since the age of 13. I had 3 surgeries from 2015 to 2017, and they didn't know what was the problem. I stopped making future plans, I genuinely thought I'd either die from this illness or kill myself because of it all. I would faint from pain, and only opiates were effective for the level of pain I was experiencing. After my last surgery, laparoscopy, they removed the outbreaks of endometriosis in my pelvis and I was much better, I still had pain, but not as unbearable. On the other hand, the mental struggle was still there. Another reason was because for years nobody believed me, before my first surgery when I was looking for help they said it's normal and would basically suggested that I'm overexaggerating. Now, in 2024 I finally got diagnosed properly, earlier I didn't even get a diagnosis, they just said they removed cysts and that's all. I've gone through years not being able to get a proper diagnosis even through I've gone to 20 doctors easy and they would always say that it's normal and that endometriosis is only happening to women near menopause. Endometriosis was suggested by one doctor who was a private practicioner, but I couldn't afford going there, he recommended a private surgery but it was supposed to cost 15000 PLN (btw I live in Poland, in 2016 in Poland a typical monthly salary was about 3000 PLN). We have national free healthcare here, but it's pretty low quality as you can tell from this story, so you can end up dead after a stay if you're not lucky (or at least this is what the situation was like in 2016 in my small town and then in Wrocław, one of the biggest cities of Poland). Anyway, I had to go to a private doctor who has a doctorate in endometriosis to get a diagnosis after 9 years.

There are now medical sources that state endometriosis can be diagnosed using pelvic mri scans and/or transvafinal ultrasounds *if* it's stage 4 endo. This also happens to be how I got my diagnosis in December. Keen to hear what her view is on this.

I was recently diagnosed with adenomyosis. The gynecologist told me the definition but didn’t really explain what to expect. I went to the ER earlier this week for stabbing pain in my pelvic area. I was my gynecologist would have told me that the pain comes with the diagnosis. I wouldn’t have wasted my time going to the ER. I even asked the ER doctor twice if it could be related to the adenomyosis and she said no. I get home and research and stabbing knife-life pain is one of the first things that comes up… But just shows the disconnect and lack of education.

This topic is very worrying once we allow ourselves to think about all the toxins that must be in our cosmetics, household products, candles, clothes etc. The fact that they replace well known toxins with less well known ones that are just as toxic- if not more- makes us feel hopeless 🙁

I agree with her. Our environment and stressful society as well as all of the toxins we're all exposed to and are consuming MUST be contributing to the prevalence of endo and other common issues and auto immune conditions so many of us have these days.

I'm greatful to have found this, I have been diagnosed with andomyosis and I got 2 diagnosis and I am looking to have the hysterectomy, I'm just so done living in pain and I'm young and can't get a surgeon to do the surgery because I'm 37 and can't have children, I also have genetic generalized epilepsy which makes having andomyosis has made my seizures worse than ever. It's been a painful life, I started my cycles at age 9 very young, I tried HRT meds for more than 15 months of bleeding and severe pain, I'm begging for the surgery because I can't handle anymore, nor anymore space inside my body for the swelling and pain. You ladies have helped me not feel so alone, thank you for what you do for advocacy is so important and not talked about often, I had never heard of it before my diagnosis in 2021 and have complained about pain, back, abdomen and legs and severe pain all the time, since my 1st period at age 9.
