Having that over sized tire on there caused all of the problems you encountered Tony. There was at least a 1-2 inch difference?? Thats why that hole was wallered out and those bolts were stripped, That was just way too much of a misalignment. Great job on fixing it👍

Hi Tony, I am having an issue with popping on deceleration and I have to set the idle up higher than normal or it will stall. Idles up and down on its own. Other than this it runs great, great acceleration with no hick ups at all, tops out at 71 mph. I The carb is a china one, the jet I noticed is a 108 not sure on the low speed jet right off hand. My brother has a helix with a stock carb and his runs perfect, I took his off and put it on mine and it ran like a new scooter so I definitely know the china carb is the issue, what size jets would you recommend that I put in the china carb to possibly solve my issues? Also do you know how many turn out I should be on the air/ fuel mixture screw?

Hi Tony , Sorry to bug you again , but I've encounter another problem with my scooter . The starter motor rotate freely , but doesn't engage the flywheel , hence the engine doesn't move . Do you think the problem is the starter motor , or worse , something got loose or broke behind the side cover , where the engine oil goes ? I've removed the starter and turned on fine , but I'm not sure if the shaft of the starter must move out when giving a crank , like a car bendix , and then retract back ( mine doesn't move ,just spin ) . Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks.

I just changed out my belt yesterday, and I learned thankfully without the belt cover on to make sure the belt has some slack when installing the variator cover. The first couple tries I had the belt too close to the center of the variator which made the nut spin off when running.

Hi Tony . Do you know how to remove the speedo gear on the front wheel of a Honda 250 that's located behind the brakes pads ?? It looks like the only way to get it out is from where the speedo cable is attached to it , but I'm not sure if there 's something holding that gear . I don't want to put much force because I'm afraid to brake something ,then not being able to fix it or replace it . Any help or tip would be highly appreciated . Thanks.

Hi Tony...not sure if you will see this a year on but I have a question. My Helix has not been able to get above 45 mph. The carb is a new replacement. It really seemed like a fuel or air issue so I checked for air leaks with starter fluid, tightened up air box, ran Sea Foam through it, changed to a new plug and even put in new rollers in case that was the reason (it wasn't!). Yesterday , just in case there was water lurking somewhere, I drained the entire fuel tank, replaced both fuel filters with generic filters from AutoZone and installed a new fuel pump. I did NOTHING to the carburator. When I started it back up after doing this, it started fine and ran for about 30 seconds and then gas began to stream out of the vent tube you referenced at 6:20 of this vid. After that it would not restart and every time I tried, fuel would spurt out of that vent tube. After sitting all night I restarted it this morning and it started fine, ran for 45 sec and then fuel once again began to pour out of the vent tube. This has never happened before. Is it possible that the new fuel pump or new fuel filters could cause that?? Thanks so much for any ideas!

This post is not for Tony but for all others. The Kmod did not work for me on my Reflex. The rpm was way too high on the highway and my fuel mileage was very poor. What did work very well was installing the face "B" of the variator from a 2005-6 250cc Big Ruckus that has equal length runners. At first I also, with the variator change, I installed the 26 gram rollers that are stock in the Big Ruckus which did give me great fuel mileage and great top speed but the acceleration was poor below 45 mph. Went to 24 gram Dr Pulley sliders and WALLA, that woke up the get up and go on this scooter and that was 4 years ago and I have never looked back. Because of the amount of miles I put on every year(roughly 10000 miles a year) I change the drive belt every spring and inspect the sliders for wear. There is a little over 30000 miles on those sliders and they still show NO wear or flat spots on the back sides and it still shifts perfectly through all the ratios. Later folks, gotta go for a scooter ride!!😁

@@dromin.official2558 I Used the Honda Bando belt that came on the Reflex from factory. With the 26gr rollers I only had decent acceleration to 20 mph but the 24gr sliders gave me great acceleration to 45 mph and retain great fuel mileage on the open road, for me it was the best of both worlds and as of yet I have no reason to change it. I have also about 3 years ago changed my contra spring to the "yellow one" along with a racing clutch with matching clutch bell (Malossii) with the 1500 rpm clutch springs for street use. There is more that I have done to the bike but it is just more than I want to type!! Later man, gotta go for a scooter ride😁!!
