One of my kids is a veterinarian. Providing a painless, easy passing for animals experiencing constant pain, fear, confusion, etc. is a great privilege, and a great sorrow. She _always_ cries in her office after every euthanasia. Rest in Peace, Bety. You've earned your rest.

@@newportnewssheriff I watch all the K9 posts from various areas. I love German Shepherds in particular as I've had 2 myself and I feel the pain of every handler and their family when they have to make the 'decision'. However I love all dogs and appreciate the work that goes in to train a K9 for any role. I often comment on US sites because of the way you treat your K9s both in service and after retirement and wish the UK would do the same. One final point, My daughter is hoping to train as a dog handler for the police force. I am so proud of her.
