These videos have helped me out a ton, son thank you! I do have a question regarding my front ring camera. Before i could hit the ring and I would get a snapshot on my Apple TV of the event with no video. But the snapshot issue was pretty much across the board until I learned about Scrypted. So after setting everything up according to your videos I tried hitting my ring doorbell again and I got the pop-up on the Apple TV, but this time it was blank with no video :/ I’ll try setting my stream settings back to default and see how that goes. My wife is ready for me to stop messing with this lol. Thanks!

What is your experience with prebuffering and Ring? it seems to load much faster in the Home app. But I have this issue where the Ring app itself is constantly making live view events and recording everything. Any ideas?

Sounds like Scrypted or the AppleHomeApp is detecting motion and then starting a recording which will show up in Ring as a "live view". My reccomendation would be to set up the motion settings you want to have for recordings in the Ring app and then match those settings in the Apple Home App. This way Ring is determing want to record and not the Scryped/AppleHomeApp. Let me know if this helps!

Ive been having an issue. I setup everything according to guides and in this case yours. Now I’m still stuck not knowing why the doorbell won’t show up when I scan or enter the HomeKit code. Log always ends with this. [Homekit]: Device is in accessory mode and is online. HomeKit services are being published Can you point me in a direction? Thanks for video! Well done 👍

It sounds like the doorbell is properly entering accessory mode, and the HomeKit services are being published, which is a good start. However, the issue may lie in one of the areas below. If you have already tried all of these let me know and we can connect on Discord to troubleshoot further. 1. Reset HomeKit Pairing: a. If the doorbell was previously paired or attempted to pair with another HomeKit setup, reset its HomeKit pairing in Scrypted and try again. b. Under the camera’s settings click HomeKit > Pairing c. Reset Pairing 2. Ensure HomeKit Unique Setup Codes: a. In Scrypted, click on Devices > (Your Cameras Name) b. Under the camera’s settings click HomeKit > Pairing c. Make sure Standalone Accessory Mode is checked 3. Check HomeKit Logs in Scrypted: a. The message “[Homekit]: Device is in accessory mode and is online. HomeKit services are being published” confirms the service is running but look for additional errors or warnings in the logs before and after that message. 4. Delete and Reinstall the Scrypted Ring Plugin: a. In Scrypted click Plugins > Ring Plugin b. Click the red trashcan icon above the setting section c. Reinstall and re-set-up Scrypted
