I love it ! I assume you painted a grainy but smooth plank black, maybe clear coated it so you could sand it with fine sandpaper. The add the blue using a solid color paint applied with a "rubber" squeegee. So much more interesting than that popular driftwood grey on furniture these days.

I usually use Evo eclipse with Harder. In your opinion, will the 765 give a run for its money.

765. How good is that to paint a table top. Will that 765 hold up to the wear and tear on plates cubs glass of water mildew running down on the side.

How long to dry before applying the topcoat?

Thanks for sharing this video Louis! Do you still sell Axalta or strictly Renner now? How well do you think that precat lacquer will perform overtime compared to Renner 851 catalyzed or 688 catalyzed fully?

I have both your white oak stain and clear coat. I asked our carpenter to do one sample board the way you demoed in your video with one coat of the white oak stain, and another with 2 coats of the white stain. I was surprised at how much lighter the 2 coats was. I am a novice but repeated this same process myself to create the two samples, and didn’t notice as much of a difference between the two. Would the way this is applied factor into how different the two samples were from each other? I really liked the lighter sample I created with the two white oak coats, but his was so much lighter and I don’t know why. I’d like to have our cabinets stained to look like the sample I created with the 2 coats of white oak stain followed by the 2 clear topcoats.

Nice. A modest introduction to me about spraying dyes. Can oil based stains be sprayed? Wanting to gingerly step into it, utilize an old Apollo 2 stage/5000 series gun.

I see that this video is a couple of years old, so I'm hoping I get a reply back 😅.. where can I find Renner ? I'm in the St. Louis MO area. I have a small painting business, and usually do 3 or 4 kitchens a year. I've always used sirca products in the past but I can't get that product any longer. Now, I've been pushing in the direction of doing more kitchen cabinets and fine finishing projects and I hear great things about Renner.. just don't know where to find it. I don't think anywhere in the St Louis area has a distributor. Can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks 🙏🏼

According to the manufacturer, product CANNOT be used directly out of can and MUST be sprayed. Therefore, your review is biased and inaccurate. Thanks anyway.

Just did my large bathroom vanity doors and drawer fronts. I hung the doors on a rack and got some runs on them. But the drawer fronts were good as I did them laying down. I have the fugi 4 unit and thinned the primer to their specs with a 1.5 nozzle. But it looks like I could have sprayed the primer with no thinning. I could tell by the way it sprayed. Too running going on. I will try spraying the advance straight out of the can.
@TechExposedTV18 күн бұрын
I'd be really surprised if you were able to spray unthinned with a 1.5mm nozzle and fuji 4 stage and not have it clog up on you or get major orange peel. Maybe if you had a 3M PPS 2.0 H/O cup it would help, but still, that's a really thick for that nozzle and a 4 stage. It's possible if you had a 2.0mm nozzle and had your fluid knob only open 1/3 of the way and went REALLY SLOW, like 3 seconds per inch, you might get enough fluid down before it starts to evaporate and give you dry finish. Any faster and you'll have blobs and orange peel. You'd need a 2.0 or 2.5mm nozzle. If you want to thin primers 10-15% you can use a 1.8mm and get away with it.

I make a spray only stain that I fog on semi wet.. I mix 300 grams of Titanium White 866 pigment in a gallon 40% acetone 60% butyl acetate.. I add a 1 gram of the lamp black pigment and and .5 grams of pathalo blue... By foging it on, I can fog it heavier on the darker grain making the color more consistent... And it dries super fast.

Fine Finish Supply is a Renner distributor. That’s all you need to know. In no way shape or form is this a bias comparison. Riiiiiight.
