Saw this the other night on the West End. Euridice and Persephone were both played by their understudies (two of the fates in this), and both were incredible!

I’m American (in Alaska actually) and one of my coworkers casually said that they just went to London and saw this cast of Hadestown and I about had a heart attack. I was like, “You saw arguably the best cast of Hadestown ever assembled perform?!”

Yes!! Beth Hinton-Lever, who iirc was also in the production when Hadestown was at the National theatre in 2018

It has to be said, that this musical - unlike others - can change it's cast and it's accent - but at it's core it's a love story about two people who fight death and must come to terms with letting go - only to start again though they know the answer. It's a universal and eternal love story - and my heart breaks every time I watch it - the same way that every time I fall in love with them.

I saw this on the 6th of July. The cast was slightly different but incredible nonetheless. If you're considering going but are unsure, please take this as a push to go! The only thing I'd recommend is getting a seat a little higher up, not on the ground, so you can see the stage effects to their full potential

The bass in the ensemble just adds another layer of depth through the riffs that we never knew we needed.

Saw this in London yesterday and was blown away by the vocals. Just listened to the cast recording and it just doesn’t capture the raw visceral performances that this cast are bringing to the material.

I think what I love most about Hadestown in general is that the diversity while not a main „point“ in the plot still holds symbolical significance.

Allie Daniel as the 3rd Fate is getting a lot of special mentions and deservedly so, but I’m truly obsessed with the way Bella Brown as the 1st Fate does the line “Who are you to lead them?” Not only does she sing it sublimely, there’s something about the way she looks at Orpheus that conveys pure malice. Gives me chills every time!
