I have the issue of the defense playing in drop every play. Which for me makes sense since i cant shoot yet, but when my teammates get wide open on every pick and roll, because the defender goes under and the pick man goes in drop every play. It not only doesnt make sense but is just dumb game mechanics.

This game is heavily-scripted bullshit. The computer can set perfect screens every time, but your players set half-hearted screens that don't get you open - your pass is more likely to get you pass picked off. 2K just can't design a competitive computer without resorting to scripting or cheating.
