I was a previous owner and I rebuilt the 1400 TX engine which I sourced from a breakers yard in 1999 if I remember right. Peter D

I was a previous owner of this DRK and I sourced the 1400 engine from a breakers yard and fully rebuilt it in the kitchen in 2000. It is a 1400cc out of a TX not a Gordini. The engine was fully balanced, pistons and con rods weight matched, head skim, flywheel lightened. Front pulley, crank, flywheel and clutch balanced as unit (engineering work carried out at Bobbin Mill near Scorton, Lancs). I sourced a down draft Weber for it and a rear facing exhaust manifold - ran like a dream! Good to hear it is still going strong. Peter D

12 grand? It was only 6 grand new here in the UK, heavly discounted here as they don't sell well, high maintenance puts folks off, personally I didn't like the handling, very little feedback.

@@reptiloidx8942 double drive belts to replace to start with, poor feedback handling from that hydrolic suspension, and very high centre of gravity, poor power output, compared with mp3 type scooters its poor value.

@@reptiloidx8942 it works great, but compared with the cheaper gilera fuoco or mp3 its poor value, having owned both i know. Yes it Can reach 135, if not with a passenger, or against a head wind, if it had a 500 motor in it, might be better, but in my opinion don't waste your money.

Made it, my 3rd VMax trike, to be fair they make crap trikes, to hard to change the gearing, to quick, great on a motorway, horrid around town, to snatchy. Sell your max buy a boom or rewaco, way better than anything you can build.
