AC generator & Alternator are both same. Both generate AC current /Voltage.

But, in alternator rotor/field winding moves and stator remains stationary. In AC generator rotor or field winding or armature remains stationary and stator moves.

There is no procedure to release the gas, once you lose spanner, after it remove by hand slowly. When oil starts leaking from it, you stop removing it and wait for 5 to 8 minutes and also lose hydraulic pipe coming to this point. Your pressure will drop then you can remove it.
