That painstakingly time consuming paintwork of the roof and rear deck with it's design pattern, perfect alignment and outside/inside flow is one of the Hallmark's of the Lowrider Community. 💯Very Cool😎

Dear People...Unless your pockets are pretty deep and your extremely bored to tears with retirement like this wanker ..PLEASE PLEASE if you value your garage queen high school hot rod you had for 99 yrs DON'T PLAY BODYMAN .. if you have a little rusty areas and some small dents and some ugliness around the edges ..go to a few small body shops STAY AWAY FROM DEARLERSHIP BODY SHOPS PERIOD...Go to a low production small shop and tell them what your looking to do and they will tell you how much your level of Perfection is going to cost then they will offer you the affordable level of perfection that level of perfection will normally give you back between 2 and 4 yrs before you start seeing any Grapes appearing under the paint .at least then you can decide to either sell your car or once again address the newly found issues .. I don't care what Video you were watching .. if you are not a bodyman I can promise you your going to make a hell of a mess of your car ..

Concerning the GTO at the beginning with the "unique" color... If that is (GM Color Code: WA3240) it was an OEM color option on the '64 GTO, '64 Tempest and certain other '64 Pontiacs called "Sunfire Red." It was also available on '64 Buicks and other '64 GM's but it was called "Coral Mist." 😎👍

Really appreciate when a piece of automotive history is restored in such a way. The showroom level, or perhaps even better than a 1956 showroom level, example has that potential to take a person back to and through so many youthful memories. 😎💯

Maybe he should of had you make a flat sheet metal panel with gray primer for practice. Then give you a trigger/handle snapped onto a Rust-Oleum fan nozzled rattle can. Then you'd practice how to keep the nozzle approximately 12 inches away from the panel and staying perpendicular/parallel to the panel area you're spraying as you spray those half laps versus the fanning of your wrist. Even with you being thrown right into it like you were it's looking pretty good at this point.👍🏻💯

There is NO activator that goes in the base coat if one is doing a base coat/clear coat paint job. TONS of people confuse and interchange a REDUCER which 7175S is with an ACTIVATOR. The reducer is used to THIN the paint and help dry/flash the paint depending on temperature conditions. There are usually 4 different reducer formulations made. From very slow to fast depending on the temp you are going to be painting. Automotive Clear Coats (2K) use a hardener/catalyst agent. The hardener contains isocyanate and one MUST USE a respirator! Naturally use one all the time while painting. There is a 1K clear made but it's not meant to be used on a car. Lastly, I don't mean to criticize your friend doing the painting but ALWAYS use a measuring cup. If the TDS says 4:1 or 2:1 ratio paint/reducer use oz/ml amounts. Batch to batch will be exact no guessing. Some primers can be use as Primers, Sealers or a Surfacer depending on how they are mixed.
