Great series. One nit-pick - the fruity charity shop manager! He comes across as a snob with his ethos of only accepting certain types of donations. That makes me ANGRY. An item that sells or that may sell should be accepted, and gratefully. The definition of 'tat' is, like opinion, subjective. HIs comments may well be construed by less well off supporters to mean that if they seek to donate stuff that is not 'posh', they needn't bother! This is a very negative message to be sending out. Many people are short of cash now and may not be able to afford to part with fancy clothing, etc, IF they are ever in possession of any to begin with! His sections strike a very wrong note, and he is intensely irritating. Does he think he is selecting stock for Harrods? Every charity shop tactfully selects what it does and does not want to offer for sale. To behave as though HIS charity shop is somehow elite is ridiculous. He may be costing the Hospice valuable revenue. Don't like him at all.

Tbh if someone like Chris Chan can get their first ever girlfriend at 40 years old, then it’s never too late for anyone, not matter how old you are.

My brother died at age 33 from a cancer a year ago. while we were able to grant his wish to be at home as much as possible and for him to die at home, a palliative and hospice system like this one would have made the whole journey much, much easier for everyone involved. while our healthcare system is making efforts to improve things, we still have a long way to go. I wish for everyone going through this difficult journey to find a place and staff that show this much dedication and care.
