I truly enjoyed the video I just started watching on u tube. I have just now started working on the Kitty hawk 1 350 scale model. Amazing work. I plan on doing the 200 scale USS enterprise in the future Thanks for your work 👍 🙏

Your 3 Kirov's are excellent, the Pyotr Velikiy is in my stash to be started, also have the Shapeways SA-N-9 covers for the foredeck along with an additional Cross Sword unit to be mounted forward of the bridge, want her to have all 128 missiles! Also several boxes of aftermarket Kashtan sets to be added, along with complete sets of Etch. Your model of the improved Nakhimov look stunning and more than likely what we may seen when she returns to service in 2 years or so? Very advanced and heaps of scratch building. Are the panels along the upper hull additional armor plate or sensors ? Noticed it and am sure that alone took a great deal of time to cut and add all of the pieces. Have also posted on your web page, paintings are excellent. Cheers Peter H

Hi Randall, I never knew so many of the 1/350 Box Arts that I have waiting to build and / or have built are from a fellow Aussie. I have also looked thru you web page and must say you have completed some amazing work over the years. Also saw the clip of your 1/350 Soviet Kirov's (3 of them) will add to that post a bit later. 'Randall Wilson', Your depiction of Admiral K. is SPOT ON!!!! The weathered, unpainted, falling paint on the hull is something I haven't seen before!! And at first seeing your lower hull I was saying, ".. What is he doing painting it by hand??!!!" The Attention you give your rear quarters of the ship and the bracing under the catwalks make This Admiral K one of my favorites I have seen!!! I'm a model builder also, but deal with 700 scale, I would like to understand HOW did you get that upper/lower hull SO weather-out!! ( it looks as if I had got some Scotch tape and pulled the paint off {actually that has happened to me when I was younger!}) The use of PE just about makes your model look like the Admiral Keznetsov look like the pictures I would see in "Detail and Scale" !! But A/C????? Check out my small fleet of JMSDF DDH's, I just about finishing JS Kaga DDH-184 and adding IJN Kaga to post Both ships together. GREAT JOB!!

Hi mate ! it,s all hand painted , using acrylic model paints ,small brushes , the lower hull (below water line ) -varying shades of acrylic paint , finished of with artist oils

@@randall7766 I N C R E D I B L E!!! So, you are saying that you Hand-painted that Entire hull ( lower and upper hull below the FD )!! I imagine that you layered the artist oils on top of the acrylic paint job..... and the acrylic paint job was hand-painted was just roughly done..... That's nuts!! AND a Great Job.... I would like to ask more questions about that ... If I may. Thanks!!

Thank you for the answer. Beautiful ships. I am building the 181, I have just the White Ensign PE set. I will use just that one, no enough budget. I am a beginner but the real problem with the PE is the navy or marine technical language they use to name the parts on the set. I am not familiar with that language, well especially been English, not my mother tongue. Of course, there are two pages of instructions but I think there are more parts on the sprung that on the instructions. I have been looking and looking again in your model to see where all those parts are located. Well, I will try, I hope if I cannot find out my myself maybe you can help me. ONE QUESTION NOW, the three long antennas on each side of the ship (on the bow), that you can see at 3:07 of the video, they came with the gold medal set PE or you made them?

Great models! I'm new to ship modelling. How did you achieve the very clean demarcation between the red decks and grey side walls?

the demarcation line is made from "Ever Green " plastic - sprayed deck colour then cut with a blade knife to the correct height (aprox 1mm) by cutting it , it leaves a white line ! easy !
