Imo glitch tale is more or less is the cannon story line chara and asirel are literally the incaration of co-existance when there souls "disapeared" its cause something knew it had to keep them safe that would be why chara and asirel never actualy died when they more or less tried to combine something stopped them it knew they were needed later on and only when monsters and humans finally started to co exist it would bring them both back in a time where monsters have more of a chance to co exist considering magic exists in the undertale universe/multiverse i wonder if the barrier actually has another purpose somewhat draw in seemingly random humans in reality there probably kinda like chara and frisk the only diffrence there the 7 great mages they probably dont know it though and from game it seems like a magic cannot stay around unless the caster or casters are still around and since the monster human war was between 2 entire races the great mages probably got rid of magic in the humans for this purpose they knew eventually the monster would come back and also know that its posible for them to co-exist and also when the barrier breaks that probably cause unoffically the 7 mages no longer exist offically though it seems like theyll still exist just in mind space and can take controll when needed like seen in the thought since really any fan made universe is cannon to undertale lore cause it is one of those places where other universe exist within it unlike alot of other storys/games where fan made lore is imposible to be within cannon lore undertale is one where fan made things actually expands it more and kind of needs it then again undertale is just one of many "cannon" time lines who knows maybe this undertale is known as gametale(where pretty much everyone but frisk or chara is actually themselves) or something like that in the undertale aus
