A little history: When you turn right around 3:20 and slowly travel past the steel mill buildings, you are actually driving along and on what used to be Johnstown's canal basin. It was largely destroyed by the 1889 flood (railroads had already superseded the canal by that time). Later, the entire basin area was filled in and repurposed for the steel industry.

Right past my parents house.

Fishing a trout stream near Harrisburg a couple years ago the day after it was stocked, I heard a loud wop, wop, wop above me and had an egret fly over and land in the stream about 40 yards downstream from me. Over the next ten minutes it caught and ate five trout just as that one did that sunfish. That’s about the quickest I’ve ever seen the PA state limit caught!!!

If you are still wondering why it's called Port Matilda, it used to be a bustling town where they made bricks. It was a vital port on the railway system. Now its rails are only used for occassional and tourist rides on it. A couple years ago they filmed a movie called Unstoppable there as well.

Yes.. I think if you drive from E Otterman (below Maple) straight thru to Bell Way (rt130) without a red light, you win $1M. Also, try getting down W Newton without a red light at Spring St. Traffic ratio like 90/10 but the lights are 50/50 between the streets.
