While I would agree that many Christians are putting too much hope in a president, that does not change the word of God. It tells us it is foolish to put our trust in man. God is well able to use a man like Trump, and I believe He is, but that does not exonerate him before a Holy God. Also, Trump is a president over a godless nation, not a pastor over the flock of God.

I have to disagree with one thing in this sermon, which is that guilt and shame are interchangeable. Guilt is the acknowledgement that “I’ve done something bad.” Shame, on the other hand, is the feeling that “I am bad.” Guilt can be a part of how God convicts us, and with that conviction He gives us hope that leads to repentance. Shame, however, often does not lead to repentance, because it contains no message of hope. It is the result of false accusations and condemnations from the enemy. He takes our sin, tells us to be ashamed of it, and in doing so causes us to doubt our identity as beloved children of God. THAT is not how the Holy Spirit speaks. Shame is not from God.

For anyone who's wrestling with the doctrine of predestination, as I currently am, I'd recommend reading Romans 8 and 9, and people's comments on it, as opposed to vice versa. Grateful to David Pawson for sharing his perspective on it, and I've checked out a couple other interpretations, and have been able to Frankenstein together an understanding of what I earnestly believe makes sense in light of what scripture says, not in light of what I want to believe to be true. Take your time with this doctrine, if it takes a day or a month, just sit with it, with a humble heart and an earnest heart and God will reveal His truth to you. You're better off wrestling with doctrines for a while and coming out the other side with greater conviction in what you now believe, rather than just trying to hear someone who readily agree with everything you already believe, or want to believe about that doctrine. God bless and Godspeed

Let's see what God says about His Sovereignty in salvation: “Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.” Acts 13:48 --- (Who "appointed"?) “So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” Matthew 20:16 --- (Who chose?) “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,” Ephesians 2:1 -- (who was dead and Who made those dead "alive"?) "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:44 --- (Does NO ONE mean NO ONE?) "just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love," Ephesians 1:4 ---(Who chose?) "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." Romans 8:29 ---(Who did this-foreknew and predestined?) "Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified." Romans 8:30 ---(Who predestined? Who called? Who justified?) "having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will," Ephesians 1:5 ---(According to what? Who adopted?) "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will," Ephesians 1:11 ---(According to what?) “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),” Ephesians 2:4-5 --(Who was dead and Who made us alive?) “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” 1 Peter 2:9 --(Chosen again… by Whom?) You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, Romans 9: 19-23 (Who made vessels of wrath and vessels of Honor?)--- It is GOD who draws people to Himself (John 6:44,65), creates a clean heart (Psalm 51:10), appoints people to believe (Acts 13:48), works faith in the believer (John 6:28-29), chooses who is to be holy and blameless (Eph. 1:4), chooses us for salvation (2 Thess. 2:13-14), grants the act of believing (Phil. 1:29), grants repentance (2 Tim. 2:24-26), calls according to His purpose (2 Tim. 1:9) causes us to be born again (1 Pet. 1:3), predestines us to salvation (Rom. 8:29-30), predestines us to adoption (Eph. 1:5), predestines us according to His purpose (Eph. 1:11), makes us born again not by our will but by His will (John 1:12-13).

@leeebbs722 You put a lot of work into your comment, and I commend you for this. When looking at the verses with Calvin spectacles, I can see your point. But if you take those lenses off, you come away with a different interpretation. Joshua said to, "Choose this day whom you will serve," and you have chosen Calvin. You believe God predetermined you to be a Calvinist, I believe you chose to be one. If I am wrong and God predetermined you to be a Calvinist, then He predetermined me to not follow Calvin and I am in His perfect will and it works out to His glory. If you and I are both correct, God made you a Calvinist and I chose not to be one. We can both be correct.

Calvinist ideology is poison. It’s dangerous. By definition a Calvinist can never truly know if they’re saved no matter what they say. It’s an oxymoron that paints God unfavorably. Just because God is sovereign does not mean he created the vast majority of civilization just to burn in hell.

I had heard his sermon on divorce and remarriage which was really good (my channel does lots of videos about the Scriptures that divorce and remarriage is adultery), but I was hoping here that he would talk about the pre-Tribulation rapture. I heard him near the end say something about the end of the Tribulation, and yes, Jesus is returning on His white horse then, but the rapture of the church is before the seven year Tribulation/Daniel's 70th week. I guess that you know that John MacArthur is a false teacher on divorce and remarriage. God bless.
