Johnny’s Reloading Bench did a accuracy test with/without can, and a handful of different brakes and just a chunk of steel screwed on the end that was the same weight as the can. The results where pretty cool. Another reason muzzle flip happens is the pivot anchor point of the firearm ie your shoulder. Rifles put the center of the bore axis above the rear pivot anchor point. Due to this factor, the rearward energy is forced backwards and down below the bore to the anchor point, your shoulder. This causes the the shoulder to drop slightly and the muzzle of the gun to rise. The same principle happens with pistols. Revolvers tend to have more flip than semi-autos. That’s why guns like the Chiappa Rhino exist. It’s a attempt to lower the bore axis of the gun

Don't agree with an age limit, but cognitive test is a must have. There are people who are smarter and more capable as an 80 year old than most people are at 40. There are also people at 40 who wouldn't pass a cognitive test to save their life. So, a metric like a cognitive test would be a far more useful eliminator than an age limit. Now, if you want to talk term limits....

Does the Zone Check light tell you if the butane tank runs out? I currently have the MR300 but it bugs me I can't tell if the tank runs out. I'm thinking about returning it and get the MR450. Also how long does the battery last?

As far as I can tell, all the light does is indicate if the plate is hot enough. I've been looking for information on what exactly this 'zonecheck' feature does, since it doesn't say anywhere on the the Thermacell website, and this video actually provides more information than anywhere else. It seems it's just a temperature sensor connected to a light. So I suppose it indirectly will tell you when the fuel tank is empty since it will stop burning and the plate will cool down. But you can also just check the flame indicator hole, and you can see how full the tank is by looking through the back of the device, there is a slot specifically for checking the butane level. This is true of the older MR300 model as well. The main advantage and only reason I would consider the MR450 is that apparently the grill was redesigned to allow better airflow in the vertical position, so that this works better when clipped to your body or otherwise vertical. The older model works best when laid horizontally (but I'm guessing that's probably true of the MR450 also).

I wish my thermacell units would work as good as yours! I have 2 MR450 and tried them many times but they do not do as good as yours, actually there is no difference on or off. I used a good bug spray with deet and that works well.

I wouldn’t use it in the tent it can be fairly irritating to any mucosa membrane for extended exposure. Buy a better tent

Thermacells are awesome. If the wind is strong they are not as effective. I never go to the woods without one. Couple it with vitamin B6 for 3-4 days in advance and mosquitos will leave you alone.

You finally took the headnet off, but that's where you ended the test video. You should have shown us another ten minutes with only the Thermocell for protection. I'm not convinced this thing is totally effective.
