My family & I went to Japan in Dec 1982 (yes, more than 40 years ago) and my dad bought a Tamiya 1/6 Honda CB1100R (same as yours) and a 1/6 Suzuki GSX1100S Katana. Both are still with me now. Needless to say, the decals have become yellow. As a 13 year-old then, my modeling skills were basic. I hand-painted the models as I didn't have an airbrush then. Spray cans were also expensive then. About 2 years ago, I wanted to restore the Honda and dissembled many parts and removed the decals, etc. I had ordered new decals, new tires and other parts through the local Tamiya agent. I have abandoned the project for a year or so, and still incomplete. I hope to restart and complete it soon.

This was such a Thunderbirds-type idea for a real aircraft! But I can’t imagine why they thought it would be viable in the real world - the vision was that it could take off and land in the middle of cities. But since it was not a real helicopter, it still needed a runway; just not as much as a conventional airplane.
